Reid was sent on a secret quest by the King to retrieve the deceased queen's crown from the citadel. He lost the necklace which is the key but later found it. Now he is on his way to the citadel but accompanied with Selare.
"Ugh. Hey I'm getting bored. Just start with the questioning already." Selare who is following Reid.
Reid told Selare that she will be coming along with him for questioning. So he took a path to the Citadel were there are lesser people wandering around.
"There aren't people around to hear us. I shall now start the questioning. But first I have to make sure. Promise me that you won't lie to your answers and that you will answer honestly." Reid remembers what Selare told him that Demons never break their promises.
Reid thinks that by making Selare promise not to lie first would make him doubt her answers less which will make things easier for him.
"You bastard. Fine, I promise not to lie and I'll answer your questions honestly." Selare feeling uneasy.
"First question. What are you doing here inside the Kingdom of Eshla?"
Selare thinks before answering the question.
I should answer his questions carefully. As much as possible, I must avoid mentioning about Astrid and Drakar. Astrid because they might hunt her down, and Drakar because they might find out that he sides with us Demons. I better be careful. Selare thought.
"I'm looking for my familiar." Selare answered shortly.
"A familiar? Those are beasts that are bounded to their masters right?"
"Y-yeah." –Selare
I guess he thinks that familiars are only beasts. I can't blame him for that. Typically, most familiars are beasts because they harbor strength that could be very beneficial in protecting their masters. I'm glad that this person is kind of an idiot. Selare thought and felt relieved.
"This familiar of yours, what kind of beast is he?"
"Hmm... I guess he's an average one." Selare answered vaguely. This way, she could answer honestly without telling him anything about Drakar.
"An average? Then it must be a hawk or a boar or something. Okay then, let us proceed."
Selare let out a sigh. Glad that he didn't press on the matter.
"Second question. How did you get past the guards of the kingdom?"
Sh*t! I got through the gates with the help of Astrid. How am I supposed to answer that? Selare thought.
"I... uh... I used magic." Selare answered vaguely.
"Magic? What kind? And how?"
"Uhmm... Y'know. The average in an average way." Selare answers. She is definitely panicking in her mind right now.
"I see. By average you mean you used some kind of magic to hide your presence past the guards. Pretty clever." Reid nodding her head while holding his chin, smiling.
"uhmm... Yeah. That's pretty much it."
"I see, then let's proceed."
He bought it? Man, I take back what I said about this person being kind of an idiot. He really IS an idiot. Selare thought and let out a sigh.
"Third question. When you were surrounded by those masked men, why didn't you save yourself? I'm sure a Demon like you could use some magic."
"Well, believe it or not, I did try to use magic against those thugs. But my magic suddenly won't work. Not even now."
