Chapter 25: A Demon's Promise

3rd Person PoV

Drakar , a hero summoned from another world , was evacuated by Scarlet, the hero also summoned from another world, during the battle between the Demon and the Kingdom of Serdin. The Kingdom of Serdin was successfully conquered by the Demons and the demons are currently rallying to that area and building a new fort.

Mein, a maid from the Kingdom of Eshla fell ill because of the curse of Schro. A curse passed down from her ancestors due to their indirect interaction with the ancient Demon King. Drakar, Scarlet, Reid, and Cerberio formed a party and went on a quest to get the tears of angel Ilyana, the cure for the curse. During their quest, after getting the tears, the giant beasts that were on guard of the tears chased them as they fled. They had no match for the beasts and was in a hopeless situation. Drakar volunteered to get left behind as a sacrifice in order to buy some time for the others to escape. Getting left behind to fend off the giant beasts can be equivalent to suicide. So everyone concluded him as dead and gone.

On the other hand, Drakar is missing from his master Selare. Selare and Astrid infiltrated the Kingdom of Eshla in order to look for him. During their search, Selare was kidnapped by a group of masked men led by a shady man whom she sold the necklace she picked up from Reid. Reid was appointed by the King to retrieve the deceased queen's crown but the key to get it was the necklace he dropped that got picked up by Selare when they bumped each other. And so, Reid search all over the city to look for Selare and he happens to find her under a dire situation.

"A knight. Get him!" The man with the bag of money commanded.

The men that were holding Selare lets go from grabbing her. They moved back, bring out their weapons, and readied themselves to fight.

"Get behind me." Reid said as he pulled Selare to get to behind him. He then draws out his sword and made a stance to defend her.

"AAAHHH!!" The men screamed as they charged towards Reid.

Reid swings his sword majestically to block all of their coming attacks. After that, he successfully counterattacks them by giving them cuts on their arms and legs.

The men backed away once again to gather themselves. This time quivering over the great skills of the knight that is in front of them. Behind the men is the shady man who is holding the bag of gold. He clenched his fist as sweat dropped from his cheeks.

"Turn your selves in and accept what punishment the Kingdom has bestowed for your wrong doing." Reid said pointing his sword on the quivering men.

"H-He's just one man! Get him you bunch of useless pr*cks!" The shady man commands as he kicked one of the men from the back.

"AAAAAHHHH!!!" Once again, all of the men raised their weapons and attempts to hit Reid all at once.

Reid used his other hand to hold his sword from the tip to intercept all of their weapons. He stud firm on his grip because if he lets go he will get hit.

"HAAAA!!" The men screamed as they exert more force causing Reid to fall on his knees as he try to resist.

Reid suddenly pushes his sword sideways. The weapons of the men slide through the blade of his sword causing their bodies to go along the direction of their weapons. At that moment, Reid did a spin to go behind them. From there, he grabs the shady man by the hand and pulled him back. He pulled the shady man as he went back to defend Selare. He then holds his sword with the blade close to the neck of the shady man.

The men gets their balance back and did their stances.

"Don't move." Reid said to the men while emphasizing the blade on the shady man's throat.
