Esme's POV:
I was watching from the kitchen window as Dixie paced through the woods, singing softly to herself as she paced. It's been over a week since she showed us the angel part of her, but she's so much improved since she joined us. She doesn't wear her shades as often, even though sometimes she avoids eye contact with us. Though she says that's just so she can ask us stuff without persuading us to answer by accident.
When she isn't with me or one of the others, she's almost always found with Seth. It isn't hard to see the love for one another growing in their eyes, I only worry if she cares enough for him to tell him. I listen to the song she's singing and smile a bit more as I reconize it as an old love song, though some of the lyrics seem to have changed a bit.
"Lavender's green, dilly dilly, lavender's blue...If you love me, dilly dilly, I will love you." (D)
"She really does care for him Esme, you shouldn't worry about her feelings for him so much." (Ed)
"Can you blame me Edward? She's been alone for so long, longer than anyone ever should, and in every sense of the word not just romantically as you were. I just want her happy." (E)
"Well then, you'll be pleased to know that Seth is taking her out to a moonlight picnic tonight and plans on telling her that she's his imprint." (Jake)
"Really Jakey?!?" (N)
"Yep, he's been planning it all week and we finally told him if he didn't do it already then we'd neuter him. He's been driving everyone crazy thinking about it." (J)
"See Esme, everything will work in the end just like it did for Edward and me." (B)
"Well guess that means we'll have to put up with another dog smelling up the house. I will say this, she was extremely nervous about the picnic today. She asked me and Alice how she looked at least four times before she went outside to wait for him." (Rose)
I smile at my children and grandchildren as they come to the same conclusion. I look back to see Seth walking out of the woods, meeting Dixie with a smile before holding out his hand to her. She smiles before taking his hand and walking with him into the woods, just as the suns sets behind the trees.
Seth's POV:"Hey Ruby." (S)
"Good Evening Seth." (D)
I smiled at the old fashioned greeting she offered me, knowing that I wouldn't want it any other way. I glance briefly up at the kitchen window to see Esme, Edward, Bella, Nessie, Rosalee, and Jake all looking down at us with smiles on their faces. I feel my face burn again as I look down at the forest floor before looking back up into her beautiful silver blue eyes.
"Well Ruby are you ready to go?" (S)
"I am if you are." (D)
I feel my grin grow as she answers me and I offer her hand which she takes without any hesistation at all. We walk in silence through the small path in the woods as the sun sets behind us. Just as it's light fades away completely I lead her out in to the meadow with the jars of candles lit and the food waiting. I owe the boys a big thanks for that one later. I look to her and see her smiling as I lead her over to the checkered blanket on the forest floor before sitting next to her.
"Seth this.....it's beautiful." (D)
"No it's not, but you certainly improve it." (S)
I see her shake her head a bit as she laughs and blushes before looking up at me. Her eyes sparkling in the light of the candles. Dinner is pased in relative silence, each of us sneaking glances at each other and looking away when we're caught. By the time we finish eating, the full moon is shining brightly over us. The stars all visible without any clouds in the sky.
