Sharing a secret - Remus Lupin

Chapter 7

Together they were walking towards Muggle studies, happily talking about all kinds of thing, unaware of the 3 boys following them from a distance. 'I don't think I have ever seen Moony act this way around a girl' James whispered to his friends, 'Did you hear him growl at Snivellus when he got too close to her, I think his wolf instincts kicked in' Sirius said and Peter nodded in agreement. 'Maybe we should check what is means, I think we already know, but if we can show that to Moony he might act on it' James said, 'Does that mean, what I think it means?' Sirius asked carefully and James nodded 'For the sake of our best friend, we will have to go to the library'.

'They give out an awful lot of homework on the first day here' Selena said as they were leaving the classroom when the lesson was finished, 'I wish I could console you, but its only getting worse from here on out' Remus laughed and Selena looked at him in shock, 'Please tell me you are kidding' she pleaded and Remus shrug his shoulders.

'Do you want to go to the common room?' Remus suggested, 'No I was actually planning on going to the Owlery to send my family a letter, but you can go' Selena replied and Remus shook his head 'No I'll walk you there, might as well send a letter to my parents while I'm there' he smiled.

On their way to the Owlery they talked about their families and childhood 'So your brother chased you into the forest because you hexed all of his socks?' Remus asked laughing in disbelieve, 'Not only my brother also my eh, primo's eh, sons of my uncle and aunt' Selena struggled with finding the right word, 'Cousins' Remus helped her.

'Yes, cousins! They chased me so I climbed into a tree and waited until it was safe again to come down. Unfortunately it was a very high tree and on my way down I slipped and fell, hit my head and broke my arm. Our parents were so angry with my brothers and cousins when they carried me into the residence since I was knocked out. I woke up to singing socks and started laughing while my mom was scolding the boys, the moment the socks were starting a parade whilst singing la cucaracha  my mom couldn't control her laughter anymore  and I told her I was to blame' Selena laughed as she thought back to that moment, 'So you come from a big family?' Remus asked, 'Yes, Not just blood related family, also very close friend whom we consider as family. A lot of us live in the residence and the rest in houses nearby. How about you?' Selena said and Remus shook his head 'No just my mom, dad and me' he answered.

They were happily greeted by Hoot upon their entry to the Owlery, 'I think she missed you' Remus joked looking at the happy owl, 'She made plenty of new friends' Selena laughed when Hoot hopped onto Remus his shoulder and started to rub her head against him.

Selena gave Hoot the letter and Remus walked to another owl and did the same, 'So, Let's head back to the common room. These books are killing me' Selena laughed as she gestured to her book bag and Remus reached towards the bag. 'I'll carry it-' he started but got interrupted, 'I was just kidding' Selena protested and headed towards the door, Remus still managed to grab her bag and swung it over his shoulder before walking after her.

Every action felt so natural between the two and it confused Remus, he had never felt like this before; happy, at ease, jealous and protective and all because of a girl he just met.

Selena thought that she knew exactly what was going on; because of her gift with werewolves Remus felt drawn to her, but mostly it wasn't this strong, certainly not when he was in his human form weeks before the full moon and that is why she decided to add a separate letter to her mom.
