Chapter 12

Selena was ready to punch Lucius as her animal instincts kicked in, rather than fleeing when she got scared she went for the heads on attack and before she could launch at the guy she heard her name being called from the other end of the corridor.

Never ever had someone been so happy to see Severus Snape, 'Is there a problem Lucius?' he asked the white haired guy sternly and he shook his head glaring at his dorm mate, 'Just talking to the newest addition of the Gryffindor house' he answered.

'you are rather close for a normal conversation and Selena does not seem to like it' Severus stood up for the girl while handing her the wand she left behind in class, 'What are you doing?' the three heard Sirius yell across the hall at the view of his friend and the two Slytherins. Severus pushed Lucius away from Selena and the two took their exit while Lucius was scolding Severus for interfering.

'Are you okay Lena?' James asked her worried and Selena nodded 'Yeah, Sev was there just right before I wanted to throw in a punch' she said confused about what happened seconds ago, 'Why didn't you just hex him?' Peter asked confused 'I forgot my wand in the classroom, Sev came to bring it' she answered him and Remus shook his head 'Why didn't you just wait for us, you practically ran out of the room' he said.

She didn't wat to hurt his feelings by saying she wanted to be alone for a while, but by the look on his face he did expect that answer and she let out a big sigh 'I am expecting a letter back from my family today, I really do miss them you know an I guess I was a tad too eager to head off to owlery and look for Hoot' she told them yet another lie.

Lucky for her they seemed to buy it, Remus looked relieved and all together they walked to the owlery, but just as they set foot outside the castle Hoot landed on Remus his shoulder and dropped a bundle of letters 'Seriously Hoot?' Selena asked her owl, which Hoot replied with a load Hoot startling the boys 'Yeah yeah I agree but next time just give my letters to me okay?' she reasoned with the owl who agreed with the comment.

'What are you agreeing on?' Sirius asked jokingly not knowing that Selena actually agreed on the statement the owl made about Remus his appearance, 'she let out an Hoot, so yeah...' Selena replied him. 'Those are a lot of letters' James said picking up the stack for Selena and Selena nodded 'I have a fairly large family' she smiled as she gladly took the stack from him. She opened up the first letter which showed a drawing from her nephew, Selena smiled fondly at it and sat down opening the other letters.

She looked smiling at the red envelope and the other were eyeing her suspiciously 'Is that a howler?' Peter asked and Selena laughed 'I may have left my dear brother a farewell gift so he would not miss me too much' she laughed while opening the letter. A deep male voice was screaming and swearing in Spanish and Selena just laughed harder and harder, when she heard la cucaracha in de background she lost it completely and tears were trailing down her face. 'You hexed his socks again?' Remus asked smiling and Selena just nodded not able to speak.

'again?' James and Sirius asked in unison and Selena told them the story of the parading socks.

Selena read the letter from her mother that did not help her much, she told her it was bound to happen at one point and that she would soon enough find out what it all meant. It also appeared that both her brother and father weren't too happy with the fact that the majority of her new found friends were guys and her mother also asked her to keep her posted on the first full moon.

When she reached the end of the letter Selena was supprised, her mom ended the letter with a simple question 'But is he cute?'
