Sharing a secret - Remus Lupin

Chapter 1

'But mom, I don't want to go there! What if one of you gets hurt? You will need me!' Selena tried to convince her Mother to not send her to Hogwarts, 'Darling, with the war starting and the dark side recuiting werewolves, you are no longer safe here. If they find out about you or your gifts, they will hunt you. Hogwarts is a safe place, Albus Dumbledore himself ensured me of your safety' Her mom stated.

Selena looked at her family and tried to smile, 'Honey, you will only get sorted today. You still have 3 weeks here and you are acting like it is a final goodbye' her father consoled her, 'You will be back before dinner sis' Raul stated smiling at his little sister and with that comment Selena and her mother apparated to Hogwarts(with a few stops off course).

Together they were walking towards a big gate where two people were apparently waiting for them, 'Selena and Maria Ochoa, welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of this magnificent school' the man introduced himself. 'My name is Minerva McGonagall, I am the transfiguration professor and head of the Gryffindor house' The woman said proudly, 'You're a cat' Selena stated and Dumbledore chuckled.

Selena and her mom followed the professors towards the enormous castle and into the headmasters office.

'This is the sorting hat, Selena. It will check which house will fit your personality best. Gryffindor values bravery, daring, nerve and chivalry. Hufflepuff values hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty and fair play. Ravenclaw values intelligence, knowledge and wit. Slytherin values ambition, cunning and resourcefulness.' The headmaster explained while he was getting what Selena presumed was the sorting hat.

Dumbledore placed the hat on her head and it began to speak; 'oh wow, you are a very special little girl aren't you? I can see that you are very brave and have a lot of nerve, you are also very loyal and intelligent. Oh and the ambition almost as much ambition as you are brave. Hmmm This is a hard one.' After that the hat went silent for a few minutes and Selena was looking around the room.

'Gryffindor!' The hat yelled out of the blue, which cause Maria to jump and let out a growl and Selena to laugh at her mom.

'Well Miss Ochoa, I am very pleased to have you as a member of my house, you will enroll in the 5th year so you can be with the other 15 year old students. I understand that you have some special requests and we have a few of our own' professor McGonagall said in a strict but kind voice, 'Yes well actually, I'd like to be outside surrounded by animals a few times a week, I need to be outside every full moon to improve my healing powers and I would like to keep to healing powers secret' Selena said with a kind smile towards the professors.

'We will allow the nightly excursions and I recommend the forbidden forest, there are a few animals that could use some healing there especially during the full moon. I assume that werewolves and other predators don't harm you, giving your living situation?' Dumbledore asked Selena, 'You assumed that correctly, but that is also something I would like to keep between the people in this room. I'm sorry mom, it is not that I am ashamed of the family, but people just don't react that good to werewolves or anything that is different for that matter' Selena said carefully and her mother send her a reassuring smile.

'That is understandable Miss Ochoa and we will keep this all to ourselves' promised professor McGonagall.

'Just remember Selena, help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it' Dumbledore stated before Selena and her mother apparated back home.
