The troublesome five sat down at the large tables in the great hall, shortly after they sat down Lily and Marlene sat down next to Selena eyeing her worriedly 'I can't help but notice that you seem to be in our presence a lot more than usual lately Lily' James said with a smirk, Peter and Sirius were grinning and Remus and Selena facepalmed themselves.
Lily rolled her eyes and ignored James, Lily and Marlene gave Selena a questioning look and Selena nodded at them.

Their first class of the day was transfiguration, when they all sat down professor McGonagall cleared her throat 'Before we will start the lessons, I have a small announcement; There will be a Halloween ball, there will be an extra Hogsmeade day tomorrow in addition to the one planned this Saturday, for you to get an outfit for the ball.
Lily turned around to Selena 'shopping?' she mouthed, Selena nodded enthusiastically.

It was halfway through the lesson when James tried to catch Selena's attention 'Psst Lena' he whispered from behind her and Selena turned around 'Could you give this to Lily?' he asked while handing her a piece of folded parchment, she handed it to Lily.
The rest of the day flew by and Selena decided to spend the evening with the girls alone for a change, 'You are going with Remus to the ball right?' Lily asked teasingly, 'and you with James, I presume' Selena said back and Marlene started laughing 'That leaves Black for you, or Pettigrew' Lily shot at her best friend.

After a few hours of laughing teasing and gossiping about boys, the girls reminded their essay that was due on Monday, Selena had left her book in the common room and went down to grab it.
To her surprise there was only one person in the room, 'Why are you all by yourself?' She asked her boyfriend that was gazing at the fire 'The guys were irritating me' he sighed and Selena shot him a questioning look 'They are pushing me to ask you to the ball' he explained.
'oh I get it. You don't wat to go with me? It is okay, I can find another date' she teased him, 'Don't you dare to' Remus smiled at her fondly before pressing his lips on hers and the two got lost in the moment, Remus pulled her on his lap before deepening the kiss.

'Okay Moony we are sorry, we should not have pestered you and- WHAT IN THE NAME OF MERLIN' James exclaimed walking in on his friends making out, 'What is going on?' Sirius asked as he and Peter came down from the stairs, they saw Remus and Selena in their rather compromising position. The boys all fell quiet, nobody knew what to say and it was Sirius who broke the silence after a few moments 'So you asked her to the ball?' he asked grinning, Selena shook her head as she stepped of the couch. 'Selena, is everything okay?' Marlene asked as she and Lily walked into the common room 'Sorry , we were just wondering what took you so long to get the book' Lily said.

'What is going on?' Lily asked when her eye fell upon the boys, 'they caught us making out' Selena said shortly and Lily started laughing, Marlene let out a little shriek of excitement.
The whole group sat around the fire in silence 'So are you guys an item now?' Peter asked carefully but with a victorious smile on his face which cause Remus to remember something 'Wipe that smirk of you face, Lily won your little bet' he said gesturing at the group surrounding them.
Lily grinned as the others looked puzzled 'But that means' Sirius began 'That you have been dating' James continued 'For a month now, yes' Selena finished it for them.

'Why did you keep it a secret?' James asked slightly insulted, 'Because we did not want you guys fussing over it, you have been meddling from day one and it just seemed easier this way'
