Sharing a secret - Remus Lupin

Chapter 9

'Dumbledore is walking back alone, which means Selena is in the forbidden forest all by herself' Remus exclaimed shocked and stood up, 'Remus, calm down. There must be a logical explanation for this, Dumbledore would never leave a student alone in the forest' James tried to calm Remus down who was putting on his shoes and sweater. 'can you think of one?' he shot back, 'maybe she apparated' Peter suggested, 'she is not of age' Remus said 'maybe someone picked her up' Sirius spoke slowly moving towards the door 'What are you going to do?' James asked standing next to Sirius.

'I'm going to look for her, now please move' Remus said standing in front of his friends, 'And how were you planning on finding her? The forest is not on the map and its huge' Sirius said and Remus just shook his head 'come on guys' he pleaded 'You are not going alone though' James said letting out a sigh.

The three of them made their way to the edge of the forest huddled up underneath James' cloak of invisibility, Peter had to stay behind because it wouldn't fit.

They were walking through the forest looking for a sign of Selena without any luck, in their search the accidently stumbled into a group of Hippogriffs and woke them up. 'Shit' Sirius exclaimed as the angry hippogriffs were closing in on them, they took out their wands to defends themselves but before they could do anything a big dog stood in front of them to protect the boys.

The hippogriffs lowered their heads to the dog and walked away.

'What was that?' Sirius asked confused looking at the dog, 'Good boy' James laughed petting it and the dog let out a growl, 'Good girl?' He asked her and Remus took a good look at the creature, 'I think it is a wolf guys' he said doubtingly.

'A very small one then, I mean my animagus form is bigger than this' Sirius said moving closer to the wolf who sat down next to Remus, 'She doesn't look like a wild wolf' Remus commented and he sat down next to the wolf. 'just be careful, you never know when it will attack' James commented, 'It won't attack' Remus said sure of himself 'and why not?' James asked skeptically, 'just look at those eyes' Remus assured him and James slowly got closer to the small wolf. He looked at her eyes and she averted her gaze, the wolf got up and ran away from the boys as fast as she could.

Turning back to her human form Selena hid away behind a tree catching her breath, 'what were they doing in here' she asked herself and she decided she needed to go back to the castle since it was almost sunrise.

Selena quickly changed into her school uniform and felt a lot better after spending some time around animals, the moment her roommates woke up she was already dressed and heading down for breakfast.

'Morning guys, you are up early' she smiled at Remus, Sirius and James in the common room, 'so are you' Sirius smiled back and Selena laughed 'I went to bed very early' she stated and the boys looked at each other.

'So are you coming for breakfast?' She asked them and they nodded in unison, when Remus and Selena were walking in front of the James grabbed the map and checked it, 'I don't get it, she wasn't on the map since midnight, but she doesn't look tired at all' James whispered and Sirius agreed with him,

'You guys look a bit tired, did you not have a good sleep?' Selena asked them, 'No ehm, Peter was snoring' Sirius made up and Selena seemed to believe it.

The guys were acting weird around Selena and she was scared that they knew she was the wolf but decided to play dumb. They were just finished with their second class today and now had a free period until care of magical creatures, just as the previous day Remus did not once leave her side and every class he sat next to her, but it was different, they were all acting strange.
