Sharing a secret - Remus Lupin

Chapter 8

Selena wrote her family that she was doing fine, that Hogwarts was not as bad as she thought it would be and that she already made friends, but missed her family. To her mom she explained the situation with Remus, how he acted during potions and asked her if she knew what was going on.

Once they got back to the common room they started on the assigned homework, Selena took out the list she made during History of magic with the words she did not understand and grabbed her book. 'You look troubled' Remus stated while looking at the parchment on the table, 'I am' Selena laughed leaving Remus confused.

'What is that?' Remus asked pointing at the parchment with a list of strange words written on it, 'Words I did not understand during the day, can you help?' Selena asked while handing Remus the paper and Remus stayed silent when he looked at the list, 'Selena, I have to be honest here, I cannot help you' Remus said after a while.

'Oh I'm sorry, you are also busy. I get it' Selena reacted slightly disappointed, 'No not like that, I'd love to help you, but I have no clue which words you mean' Remus explained himself quickly and Selena started laughing. Selena tried to pronounce the words she wrote down and in that way Remus did get which words she meant and explained them for her.

When James, Sirius and Peter returned to the common room a little before dinner they found Remus and Selena laughing together surrounded by books, 'I feel really stupid right now' Selena said, 'There is no need to feel stupid, English is not your first language' Remus tried to console here.

'At least it was only you who heard' Selena grinned, 'Yeah, but from now on don't forget the difference between being late and getting laid' Remus while still holding back his laughter and Selena started laughing again.

'But do be careful because the one can often lead to the other' Sirius said and only now the two noticed the presence of their friends, 'I don't get it?' Selena said putting away her books, 'But we must hurry up else we will BE LATE for dinner' Remus teased and the other marauders were surprised by his behavior.

'Hi Selena, how was your first day?' Lily asked when Selena sat down next to her, 'very nice, the people here are a lot friendlier than I thought they would be' Selena replied.

After dinner Selena spend her time with the other girls in their dorm, they were laughing and talking about typical girl stuff. 'Selena, do you need help with reviewing your essays for spelling mistakes?' Lilly offered, 'No, I already did all my homework this afternoon and Remus checked it for me' she replied and Lily and Marlene shared a look.

'So Moony, how was your day with the future Misses Lupin?' Sirius teased, Remus shot a glare at him 'Oh come on, we know her for a day yet the two of you act like you have been together for ages.' Sirius continued.

The boys continued teasing Remus for quite some time until James told them to be quiet, 'Look at this!' he said pointing at the outside area of the marauders map, two names appeared on there; Selena Ochoa and Albus Dumbledore.

'What are Lena and Dumbledore doing outside in the middle of the night?' Peter asked and the others shrugged.

Selena sneaked out of her dorm when the others finally stopped teasing her about Remus and fell asleep, when she climbed out of the portrait hole she heard someone clear their throat behind her and was sure she got caught by a teacher who did not know of the agreement.

When she turned around she was greeted with a smile by professor Dumbledore, 'Good evening Miss Ochoa, I will guide you to the forest for your first night.' He told her and they started walking to the exit.

'This is where our ways will part, please make sure you are back on time for breakfast' Dumbledore said standing on the edge of the forbidden forest, 'I will professor, if I survived 15 years surrounded by a pack of werewolves this will be a walk in the park' she joked walking into the forest.

As the trees were growing closer together the forest got darker, 'Lumos' Selena spoke and with a flick of her wrist the tip of her wand lit up so she could see where she was going.
