The girls were chatting away until the heard some noise behind them 'Please tell me-' Selena started 'Hello ladies, mind if we join in' she heard Sirius asked them while he shoved Remus on the bench next to Selena, 'Well actually yes' Marlene said and glared at the boys 'oh that's not true McKinnon, you love us' Sirius replied.
Selena quickly finished her lunch, gave Lily and Marlene a nod and left the great hall without saying a word 'Told you she hates me' Remus grunted and he covered his face with his hands.
Lily and Marlene felt bad for the troubled boy 'She doesn't hate you Remus' Marlene consoled him, 'She is just embarrassed' Lily added in and Remus looked at the two girls 'How can you be so sure?' he asked 'Because she told us' The girls stated.

'So go after her and talk to her in private.' Lily urged him, 'Go, shoo' Marlene pushed him and Remus got up and left the great hall looking for Selena. The two girls focused their attention on the remaining marauders 'See, you love us' Sirius said with a smirk on his face 'Remus is okay and we did this mainly for Selena' Marlene said glaring at the boys 'Are you out of your mind, just shoving him against her. You made it even worse for the both of them' Lily scolded the boys quietly.

'So we made a bet about how long it would take for the two of them to become a couple; Peter said 4 weeks, Sirius said 2 I say 1' James told the girls, 'I'd say 3' Marlene said placing a galleon on the table 'Are you in or are you out Evans?' Sirius asked and Lily placed a Galleon on the table as well.
'Today' she said sure of herself.

Remus did not have to search long, because somehow his instincts were always right about Selena's location and he spotted her near the black lake. He mustered up all of his Gryffindor courage to say hi as he sat down next to her 'hi' Selena said staring ahead, 'I'm really sorry, I swear I didn't mean to' Remus said 'I know, I am not mad at you at all. Just embarrassed and the boys teasing does not make it any better' she sighed still feeling uncomfortable.
'I am going to kick their asses' Remus growled after he heard about the teasing, 'it's okay' Selena assured him. The both remained seated as the enjoyed the now comfortable silence.

'Lena?' he asked looking at her 'Yes Rem?' she answered 'I like you' he said bluntly, 'I know, I like you to' she said smiling and Remus shook his head 'No I mean I like you more than just a friend' he whispered while cupping her cheeks 'I know' she smiled, Remus saw this as the perfect moment to close the remaining space between them and kiss her.

'Minerva, I believe you owe me a bag of sherbet lemons' Dumbledore said snickering while looking out of the window in his office, 'and why would that be Albus?' she asked him as she stood up, 'I told you the day after the first full moon' he said while pointing at the kissing couple near the black lake.
'I know, I just figured Potter, Black and Pettigrew would do something to ruin it' she sighed.
'Oh but they did, they tried to help in their own way' one of the paintings snickered 'Horrace is going to be devastated, he really hoped either miss Evans or miss Ochoa would end up with mister Snape' professor Dumbledore smiled.
