Sharing a secret - Remus Lupin

Chapter 23

'Why were you talking to Snape?' Remus growled, 'Seriously, That is all you got from what I just said?' Selena asked agitated and Remus sat down next to her, 'Sorry, just a bit grumpy' he said in a quiet voice.
'Don't worry about Snivellus, he won't be able to prove anything Lena' James comforted her, 'anyway, I am going to prepare myself for tonight, I will see you lot at the entrance of the forest at ten' Selena said as she left the room and Sirius looked confused.
'At the forest?' he asked, 'Yes, Selena needs to be outside during the full moon and giving that Moony turns into a lapdog when she is around we figured it would be for the best' James explained.

Selena had her bag ready to leave when her dormmates stormed in, 'Where are you going?' Lily asked sceptical, 'the hospital wing, I have massive cramps' Selena lied with a painful look upon her face and the two girls nodded understanding, 'Want us to walk you there?' Marlene offered kindly.
Selena felt terrible for lying to her friends, but this was for a greater cause 'No that would not be necessary, I don't want to risk getting either of you in trouble for being out after hours' Selena kindly declined their offer.

Selena sprinted through the hallways and across the fields to the edge of the forbidden forest where the guys were already waiting for her, 'What took you so long?' Peter asked her nervously 'Lily and Marlene walked in right as I was about to leave, I made up a story so no worries' she spoke when she saw the looks of the other guys.
'What did you tell them?' Sirius asked curiously as they were walking deeper into the forest, as easy as Selena told the girls about the fake menstrual cramps, she could not utter the words to the guys.
'I eh, told them I needed to go to the hospital wing' She spoke vaguely, 'For what? We need to get our stories straight' Sirius pushed and that was when Remus realized what Selena must have told her friends 'I doubt they will ask us about the matter' he stood up for his girlfriend.
Remus let out a load groan as the transformation began, it hurt more than he expected with Selena around and even though the pain was less than usual, it was rather unpleasant.

Selena was not used to someone being in this much pain during their transformation, with her relatives it mostly went quit easy and out of a reflex she grabbed his hand and tried to console him.
Remus tried his hardest to just focus on his girlfriend and not on the pain he was feeling, it helped a lot and the feeling that went through his body was a bit irritating at most.
James, Sirius and Peter had shifted to their animal forms, Selena quickly did the same and the five roamed the forest peacefully, this had to be the easiest full moon ever.
While the group roamed the forest Severus was waiting around the Whomping Willow to catch the four boys in the act and show to his friend that he was right and that she should stay away from them. But no matter how long he waited, the Marauders never showed up.

The group returned to the opening where Selena left her bag and went for a short nap before then sun would rise again, Remus and Selena cuddled up together, the others laid down around them.
Remus woke up feeling his body shifting back to the human form, grabbed the clothes Selena packed for him and got dressed as fast as he could. His eyes fell on a thermos flask and the dailyprophet from the day before. You can drink the hot chocolate from the flask, unfortunately there was no reason for me to whack you with the newspaper and I was really looking forward to it' Selena spoke in a soft voice while she stood up and stretched.
