Elizabeth, with her legs shaking and her knees wobbling, follows the boys back into the lounge room. Everyone's eyes are on her and Asher, and the fact that she doesn't know what expression she wears makes her heart sink.
What the hell just happened?
One second she thought of Asher as nothing more than a frenemy, but by the way he kissed her, touched her, and made her feel like she was the only woman on the planet, she has been completely dumbfounded. He kissed her like she was the only thing he wanted in life. Like he couldn't stop kissing her. He made her world spin like a top and she honestly doesn't know how to feel about that. She doesn't know how to feel about Asher Weston.
"My turn." Sebastian decreases the awkwardness and the tension in the room by easily spinning the glass bottle. He runs a hand through his light brown hair and then rubs a bit of his stubble impatiently, the tap of his foot a steady beat.
Elizabeth and Asher take their seats, all the while, Jay's eyes following them, darting back and forth between them. He doesn't seem mad or concerned or anything, actually. All Elizabeth sees when she meets his gaze is his blank, emerald eyes. He doesn't show any emotion... Almost as if he is hiding his emotions from everyone.
Elizabeth pulls her knees up to her chest and rests her arms around them comfortably, but as she does so she is concentrating on her heartbeat and attempting to slow it down. Her blue eyes don't lock with Asher's, and she avoids everyone else's. Elizabeth even diverts her eyes away from Ruth's piercing ones and her scowling freckled face. It seems that although Asher and Ruth broke up a while back, Ruth might not be completely over him, and especially doesn't appreciate her friend making out with him.
"Elizabeth." Sebastian's voice draws her attention to his light brown eyes."The bottle landed on you."
Elizabeth's gaze lowers to the bottle, which indeed is directed straight at Elizabeth and her racing heart. She opens her mouth to say something, but as soon as she does she closes it. Speechless, she just stares at the glass and frowns.
"Two times in a row." Finn mumbles from the couch along the wall to Elizabeth's right. "That's a first."
Elizabeth swallows. She can't kiss Sebastian! She just made out with Asher. Frankly, she is still recovering. Her thoughts are dispersed, her heart is tangled, and her gut couldn't be in a tighter knot.
"Elizabeth." A voice thunders into the room. She recognizes the deep voice almost instantly and her heart skips a beat. Glancing up and toward the door, she spots her two older brothers and their frowning faces. Hanes steps toward her, sighing. "We finally found you."
Elizabeth shoots to her feet, her breath taken away. "What are you two doing here?!"
"You're coming home with us." Hanes orders her, his voice firm and his hazel eyes narrowing. "We've been looking for you for the past hour."
Elizabeth's voice comes out in a rushed whisper. "Why didn't you two just text me?"
"We knew you wouldn't listen." Hanes takes another step towards her. His curly, brown hair bounces atop his head. "Come on. Let's go. Remember what we said? Either you take us to the parties, or you don't party at all."
"But-"
"You're not partying. We're going home." Hanes throws Elizabeth a death glare, disarming her and drawing a frown onto her lips.
"You can't do that!" Sebastian moves in front of Elizabeth. Her eyebrows rise and her jaw drops at his sudden impulse to argue with her brothers.
