RECAP: Everyone enjoys their break from history by ice skating. Pete beats Finn up for something Finn did, but fortunately a friend arrives and saves him.
***FINN'S P.O.V***
"Wait." Is the one word off Finn's lips that stops Asher dead in his tracks on his route out of the bathroom. They are inches away from the door, but Finn's heart is still slamming against his lungs like a sledgehammer, and unfortunately he can't breathe very well. "I'm not ready to go out there."
Finn courageously lifts his arm from its spot around Asher's neck and swallows. "Thank you, man."
Asher nods, but then a question arises in Finn's mind. "How did you know I needed your help?"
"I would say I noticed, but I'd be lying. Elizabeth saw you and convinced me to check on you." Asher says, tucking his useless hands in his pants pockets.
"I owe her, then." Finn smiles, wiping away a few drops of blood that escape his lip.
"No you don't." Asher mumbles right away as he shakes his head. "I saw you cheering Elizabeth up on Governor's Island. Whatever you told her, it relieved the cloud of tension that she had been drowning in. You're even, in my book."
Finn takes that to heart and lets a kind feeling warm his body, but quickly surprise shoots throughout him. Raising his eyebrows, he asks, "You noticed that dark cloud around her lift?"
Asher does a double-take, but after he recovers he brings a smile to his face. "I guess I did."
"She's really getting to yah, huh?" Finn's grin is effortless as it rules his features.
"Yeah. And what about Willow? You slept with her?" Asher questions, astonishment filtering through his voice. It almost offends Finn, but it doesn't quite get to him because it's Asher these words are coming from.
"Yeah. She came onto me when she had her hotel room to herself." Blush glitters on his cheeks and crinkles surface at the sides of his caramel eyes. "I didn't really trust her or anything, but then I thought, 'what the hell, why not?', you know?"
"I know." Asher winks.
What Finn said is true. He was right for not trusting Willow, because somehow word got around that the two slept together and Finn didn't say a word. She's backstabbing and she earned Finn a good beating, whether she knew it or not.
"You know what?" Asher questions Finn, drawing him out of his disappointing thoughts.
"What?" Is Finn's curious reply.
"You can't really tell you got beat up. After your lip stops bleeding, you'll look as good as new." Asher points out with an assuring side glance.
"Really?" Finn grins, wiping his lip once again. "That's good."
Silence greets them, but Asher doesn't welcome it. "Are you going to tell Mr. Gaz about what Pete did?"
"And get in trouble for sleeping with Willow? No thanks." Finn laughs, running a nervous hand through his short, dark hair. "I think Pete got what he deserved."
They both glance back and see that Pete still lies on the floor. He is sitting up, but he's rubbing his jaw and grimacing. Hopefully, it's broken.
***JAY'S P.O.V***
"Don't grab my hand." Jay grumbles as Sebastian skids to a stop by his side and attempts to help him up. "Hey! Stop! I got this..."
Sebastian mumbles innocently. "Let me just help you up-"
