***ASHER'S P.O.V***
Asher watches as Elizabeth's hotel door clicks shut behind her. In an instant, the hallway isn't as bright, the air not as light. Asher's smile drops off his face, and his heart tilts uncomfortably like her presence keeps it in place.
The whole time Asher has been hanging out with Elizabeth this morning, his stomach has been filled with acid, sizzling constantly. The pain is caused by the thought of Pete kissing Elizabeth, and although Asher pretended to cool down, he's not the slightest cool. He's like the sun right now as he hotly balls his fists and walks toward Pete's room down the hall.
Asher forgets about everything except the fact that Pete made a move on his girl. His vision is blood red and tunneled, focused on the boy's hotel door, which he knocks on loudly.
Pete doesn't open the door right away, so Asher calls to him in a gruff voice. "Pete, come on man. Open the door."
When the door swings open, Asher meets the boy's brown eyes with his own pale ones. Pete is timid and remains in his hotel room, gripping the door in his hand. Asher curses, saying, "What the hell is wrong with you? You kissed Elizabeth, you dick."
Asher stares at the idiot as he shrugs and says, "I don't know what she told you, but she was the one that kissed me."
Asher loses it and ruthlessly throws daggers through his eyes to the dumb kid. Even if the boy was waving a white flag and pleading for mercy, Asher doesn't think he would be able to stop himself from doing what he promised he would do.
Asher steps forward, grabs Pete's hand, and breaks his pinky and ring finger. He can feel the bone break in his grasp, and he gets chills. Yet, he doesn't regret it, even when Pete howls like a dying cat.
Asher barks, "You don't know what Elizabeth has gone through. You also don't know what I've been through. Hell, you don't know what we've been through to get to where we are today, so don't mess with us." Asher's vision is blurred with rage. "In fact, don't mess with anyone. Be better than that, Pete."
Asher never thought he would say the words that come from his lips, but he's satisfied with them. He walks away from the whimpering boy, and the only time he glances back is when he says, "If you tell anyone about this, I'll break the other three fingers."
Pete narrows his eyes and for a second Asher nearly wants to turn back and make sure he knows he isn't messing around, but Pete finally speaks up. "Fine. Okay, man. I'm sorry. Jeez, your girlfriend already kneed my dick and threatened to make sure I'd never have babies."
Asher can't help but smile as he turns on his heel and walks away.
***ELIZABETH'S P.O.V***
"After this trip is over, I'm going to be broke." Natalie says to Elizabeth as they go through a rack of clothes. The bus has stopped at a shop along a decently busy street, and everyone is having fun trying on clothes and messing around. It's a total change from the past couple of days, and Elizabeth has to admit that it's a good change.
Elizabeth lifts up a white shirt that looks so short that it could be a bra. It has a silky feel, but that doesn't make up for the loss of fabric. Elizabeth chuckles. "Wow. What is this?"
