Ki

After I walked out with Luke to the balcony again, I sat on the chairs instead of standing. There was an uncomfortable silence for a long time. "Well?" I asked, and he blinked a few times. "I still want you back, and I know I was an asshole to you, but let me explain."

And with that, he went onto some spiel about how he would do whatever it took to win me back, he'd change everything about him if that meant I'd stay. My heart wavered, and I almost gave in, but then I was reminded what he told me last time we were together.

"God, Kylie, this is why I'm the only one desperate enough to date you. You're so goddamn needy, you never leave me alone! Why don't you just go back to Emma, like you always do when something gets bad. Maybe then I'd get to think!"

I stood up shakily, and had to refrain from yelling. "No. You think it's that easy? You think that you can just walk in here, and make some kind of a scene with our friends, then drag me out here and just beg for me to take you back? No. Not after what you did. How you treated me. What's worse is, there's a big part of me telling myself to take you back, because if I'm honest, I do still love you. So much. You have no idea. But I need to think of myself here, and I have to say no." With that, I walked back inside, sitting next to Ashton again.

"Hey, short stack. Why'd you change out of your camp shirt?" Ashton asked, and I shrugged. "First off, I'm not that short, second, I don't know, I was bored." I said, and leaned my head on his shoulder. "Fair enough." He mumbled and I sighed. Soon enough, I felt a weight in the seat next to me. I opened one eye to see Calum there.

"Hey dude. Where's Emma?" I asked, and he sighed. "She's... being Emma. I left a taco in front of her room as a peace offering, but she just slid it inside her room." Calum told me, and I scoffed. "Typical. Let me go get her." I said, and attempted to get up off the couch. Eventually, Ashton had to push my back to help me get up, and then I was off.

"Hey, emo! Open up." I yelled through Emma's room, and it swung open. I heard a faint Lana Del Rey song, and shook my head. I saw Emma laying face down on her bed, the taco next to her. "Come on, Emma. We gotta host all these people, and we're running out of tacos." I said, and she looked back at me.

"They can have my McDonald's." She mumbled, and that's when I knew something was wrong. "Woah there, you never share. Anything. What's going on?" I sympathized, and she sat up fully. With tear-mascara streaks down her eyes, she started "its Calum. He's so nice. So good to me. After we talked, he came in and said he heard everything about my Nova issues, and I was really embarrassed because he knew about my weakness, which you know is jealousy, and then he went on about how I'm the only one for him and he and Nova were in the past- and yes I loved it and I love him but I feel like he could do so much better." Emma ranted, throwing herself back again.

"Okay, turn the dramatics down a notch, stop throwing yourself back all the time, and literally chill out. Think. Do you really want to be the girl who says she's not good enough for Calum Hood, even though you've been dating for like six years?" I asked, and she looked at me. "No." She whimpered, and I laid down next to her. "Exactly. The only thing stopping you and the man of your teenage-dreams is yourself. Get that taco, and go to him." I said, and she stood up, walking to a mirror. "Ew. Who let me leave the house like this?" She asked, and began to wipe her make-up off.

I left her be, and passed Calum in the hallway yet again. I patted him on the back again, and went back to the balcony. "I can't believe you're still here." I said, and grabbed Luke by the shoulders and kissed him.
