Asriel p.o.v

Asriel looked over to Brittney's group to see her stirring her dough together slowly, almost as if she were lost in thought, her group members working furiously around her. Since he was finished with his task, Asriel walked over to her. "Hey, do you need some help?" Asriel asked her gently. The Braixen jumped, as if shocked out of her thoughts. "If you want to help..." Brittney said, relinquishing her spoon to him. Smiling to her, Asriel began to stir the dough together, mixing the product properly together. "Sorry about how I acted to you earlier" the braixen said, taking her turn to surprise the lucario. "Oh, it was no problem at all!" Asriel replied with a small smile.

Smiling with uncertainty, Brittney nodded as Asriel finished. "Hey, if you want, I could give you some of my groups cookies; we are making peanut butter cookies" Asriel offered, though the look on her face made  him step back. "Wait, you are not allergic to peanut butter, are you?" Asriel asked, scared that he may have offended her by being inconsiderate of any possible allergens she may have had. "No, I am not; I just didn't know how to say I don't like peanut butter" Brittney replied, shaking her head with a slight blush.

"Oh, that's a relief" Asriel sighed, glad he did not offend her in any way. "Thank you for the offer though" Brittney said before Sam called him over to there oven. "Should we add more peanut butter? I think it is good, but Orron thinks we should add more" Sam asked him, the female furret shooting look at the Zoroark. "I'm sorry, but I personally like mine with a lot of peanut butter" Orron shot back, folding his arms across his chest. "Fine. We make the rest of the cookies one way, while we leave Orron with his own custom amount of peanut butter, okay?" Asriel sighed, suggesting the super simple solution. The rest of his group froze before nodding. "I was going to think of that soon" Orron replied with a overly confident smirk. Before his group could say anything, he agreed with him. "I am sure you would have" Asriel said, patting him on the back.

After Sam put the cookies into the oven, Asriel set the timer on top of the stove to fourteen minutes before turning around, seeing Brittney laughing with Flare. 'Good to see she is making friends' Asriel thought with a small smile, one that Sam picked up on. "You love her, don't you lover boy?" Sam snickered, causing Asriel to blush. "N-n-no! Why would you ask such a question?" Asriel stammered back. "Okay, that is enough; you can stop picking on Romeo here" Sapphire said from the kitchen next to there's, causing the entire class to start to laugh, though not meanly. Asriel turned completely red in embarrassment as he stole a glance at Brittney. 'Well, at least I cant make myself look any more idiotic' Asriel thought to himself.

-P.O.V change, Brittney-

'He likes me?' Brittney thought to herself, the surprise in her thought surprising her. 'What am I talking about? This is perfect for my plans! When he moves to ask the question, I will crush him where he stands!' the braixen thought, her eyes filled with a burning flame. "Girl,  you like him to don't you?" Flare asked her kitchen partner with a cocky smirk. "W-why do you ask?" Brittney said, glaring daggers at the Flareon. "It is clear by they way you are looking at him my dear fire fox" Flare responded, patting her on the shoulder before moving to put there cookies into the oven. Blushing herself, Brittney moved to the kitchen to wash her paws, trying hard not to react to what Flare said.

As she waited for the cookies to be done, Brittney kept on catching herself looking at Asriel as he conversed with his group. 'Why can't  I stop watching him?!?'  Brittney mentally yelled at herself, forcing herself to lock on her stove to watch the pastry's bake. 'why, no, how could he like me? All I have been is rude to him' Brittney thought, her mind wandering back to the lucario before she caught herself. 'Arceus Damnit!' Brittney yelled at herself, forcing herself to think of other things to distract herself for the rest of the class.

At the end of class, Brittney gave Mrs.Seer one of her groups products before moving to gather her things, her share wrapped up in plastic. Placing the cookies in her back pack, she zipped up the bag before shouldering it as the bell rang, releasing them from school. Sighing with relief, Brittney all but ran out of the classroom, trying to hurry up and leave the school, to get away from him. 'Why can't I stop thinking about him?' Brittney thought to herself as she ran up the stairs from the basement, taking them two at a time. "Hey Brittney!" a voice called, making the braixen slow down and turn her head. "What is the rush? Your running like you have fire on your tail!" Frost laughed at his slight fire-type pun, not amusing her in the slightest. "Sorry Frost, but I really have to go" Brittney replied to the glaceon, looking down the hall to make sure that Asriel has not gotten up there yet.

"What happened?" Frost said, his tone changing from playful to dead serious at the blink of an eye. Hesitating, Brittney thought of something that would be a distraction for the lucario, but it hurt her to know she had to lie. "It is a lucario in my culinary class, one named Asriel. He was looking at me in such a hungry way that it made me uncomfortable" Brittney said, shivering just to add that extra touch of believability. "Say no more; when he gets up here, I will give him a talking to. You skedaddle" Frost told her, he turning his ice blue eyes towards the direction of the classroom. "Thank  you Frost; I owe you one" Brittney told him before she took off running.

'Why did I do that? Why?' Brittney thought as she ran out of the school, the guilt already hitting her, but she did not stop running. She stopped at the crosswalk before slamming the walk button, but luck was not on her side; the light turned green a second before, making her wait. 'DamnitDamnitDamnitDamnit' Brittney thought over and over again, looking behind her to the school doors to make sure the lucario was not walking out of the building.

'Why?' Brittney thought as the light turned, the walk sign flashing before she bolted across the street, making her way on home as quickly as she could.
