A little love story between Lucario and Braixen

Seven days till.......

-time skip, two days-

Asriel was walking up to school, his umbrella held above him as the rain assaulted the pavement. 'The prom theme is a Masquerade... What should I make my mask be? What color should I make it? What am I going to do?' Asriel thought as he walked, lost deep in thought, so much so he did not see a van slow down beside him and the window roll down.

"Asriel!" a voice called, shaking the lucario out of his thoughts. Looking, he saw a delphox and- 'Is that Brittney?!?' Asriel thought when he saw the passenger. "Asriel! Why don't you get in? there is a back row in here if you would like to stay dry" the Brittney-look a like offered. "Sorry, but are you Brittney?" Asriel asked as he stopped walking. "Yes I am! Can't you recognize a culinary class mate?" the braixen asked. "Please do get in; she would not stop asking me to pick you up, so please, do get in the back. Brittney, please open the side door" the delphox requested. As Asriel looked at the side of the van, he knew it really was Brittney; he knew that Brittney's mom worked in the Mystic Baking bakery, even seeing her behind the counter a few times.

"Thank you ma'am" Asriel thanked, bowing to her slightly as the door opened. "Come on in! There are doughnuts if you are interested!" Brittney smiled as she moved back, letting Asriel move in, he closing his umbrella. As he moved into the van, he inhaled deeply, the van smelling sweet and like, well, bread. True to her word, there was a box of doughnuts on the other side of the row of seats, all a random selection. "Thank you Mrs.Blackwood" Asriel said, using an offered napkin to get a doughnut. "No problem dear; do enjoy yourself. And, you don't have to call me Mrs.Blackwood; that is way too formal for me. Just call me Sarah" the delphox replied as she sped up into the flow of traffic.

"So Asriel; what are your plans for the day? After school, I mean" Brittney asked as she also collected a doughnut. "Well, I just have to do some shopping" Asriel replied. "Oh, could I help you with that? I know some great stores that sell some really cheap, but fashionable clothes! Where do you live?" Brittney asked, excited. "Oh, my address is 1702 Articuno Street" Asriel replied, causing Brittney to look startled. "Then that would make us neighbors! My address is 1700 Articuno Street!" Brittney cried, getting a laugh out of Sarah as she turned.

Asriel himself was greatly stunned. 'Wow' was all Asriel thought as he munched on his pastry, glad that getting to Brittneys house would not take as long as he thought it would. "So, I heard about prom from Brittney; do you have any plans to go?" Sarah asked Asriel, causing him to blush. "Yes ma'am; that is why I need to go shopping for some new clothes; I doubt the girl I plan on asking would like me to go in a t-shirt and jeans" Asriel responded, blushing faintly. "Oh? Could you tell me about this girl?" Sarah asked, her voice very much interested.

"She is, simply put, beautiful. The way her fur is brushed, the way she smiles, the way she shines just blows me away every time I think about her. She has this light in her that burns brighter and hotter than any flame" Asriel replied, making sure to only look at Sarah through the rearview mirror. Luckily, the light turned to red, because Sarah slammed down on the breaks, the van easing to a quick stop. "Do you mean that Asriel?" Sarah asked, her tone deadly serious. "Y-yes ma'am; I would do anything for her" Asriel replied, confused on her reaction, Brittney looking like she felt the same way. "Brittney; I want you to use it when you have time alone okay? I will tell you why" Sarah said suddenly, confusing Asriel even more.

Sarah was silent the rest of the drive up to school, her eyes distant but focused on the drive up to the education building. "Here, you two can have the rest of the doughnuts; have a good day" Sarah told the pair as they got out of the van. "Yes ma'am; you too" Asriel replied, smiling up to the delphox. Nodding to the respectful young lucario, Sarah drove away as the pair walked into the building.

'I wonder what that was about?' Asriel thought as they parted ways until seventh period, taking note to ask Brittney about it later if she was willing to answer him.

-P.O.V change, Brittney-

"Hey Frost!" Brittney said as she walked up to one of her friends, the Glaceon responding in kind. "Here; I got you some breakfast" the braxien said as she gave him the doughnut she was holding. "Thank you girl! Your the sweetest!" Frost said, causing Brittney to laugh at the slight pun. "So, what do you have planned for the day? Are you still going to ask Sapphire to prom?" Brittney asked her friend as they walked to Pokeology."Yeah; I already have my idea in motion to ask her" Frost said as he took a bite of the chocolate doughnut, he then asking if Asriel had asked her yet. "No, not yet" Brittney replied, a warm feeling in her heart saying that he would in the close future.

"Do you have your mask designed?" Frost asked her as they entered the classroom, both sitting down together. "Yeah I do; here, I will show you it" Brittney said as she placed down her back pack gently, unzipping it and slowly pulled out her mask. The mask was the color of blue fire, the edges making it look like it were literally made of flame, a light sparkle of glitter over the paint to make it reflect the light. "Wow; that looks amazing" Frost complimented as Brittney stowed away the mask. "Thank you; I hope that Asriel likes it" Brittney responded as class started. "How do you feel? Has your mouth recovered?" Frost asked quietly.

"Yeah: my mouth feels fine" Brittney responded, flashing him a smile of her newly straightened teeth. The real reason why she had stayed home was to recover from her braces coming off, not because of a cold. "Girl, I would be careful who you smile to; you might just bewitch someone like that!" a cheery voice said, causing Brittney to laugh as she turned to Sapphire. "Thank you Sapphire" Brittney replied as she took out her text book.

-P.O.V change, Omnipresent-

The day went on peacefully, both Brittney and Asriel getting asked by there friends if the they have asked the other out yet to prom, both replying in the negative. When they got to there culinary class, they both sat together and worked together on the food for prom, the dessert being unicorn cupcakes.

The time is drawing closer and closer... When will Asriel ask Brittney to prom? What will his mask look like? Stay tuned to find out!
