-Time skip, Saturday-

"Yes ma'am; I will cook my own food. Don't worry; I know how to use the stove," Asriel said into his phone as he opened the fridge, looking for cooking supplies. "Alright dear; there is money on the counter if you change your mind. I will be home tomorrow," Asriel's mom said. "Okay mom; Love you," Asriel said, his mom replied in kind before she hung up.  Lisa was up in Houston working, helping in a short staffed hospital.

Preparing himself for cooking, Asriel thought about what he wanted to make after he pulled out a bunch of random things from the fridge, looking over each one before an idea hit him. 'Oran berry salad it is' Asriel thought as he moved to the cabinets to get a salad bowl to toss the salad. "Hey Siri, call Britt Britt," Asriel said, his phone doing as asked. The song Drop Pop Candy being her ring tone; she picked up on the second ring. "Yello?" Brittney said. "Hey, Brittney; I was wondering if you would like to have lunch with me?" Asriel asked as he washed the lettuce leaves. "Sure! I will be over in a flash; don't cook too much now!" Brittney teased before she hung up, getting Asriel to chuckle as he set the leaves to the side.

A knock came from the door as Asriel was chopping the berries. Setting down the knife safely aside, Asriel wiped his paws on his apron (yes, even out of school, he wears an apron) before making his way to the front door, checking through the peep hole to check who it was. Seeing his fiery love, he opened the door, welcoming her in. "Nice apron there," Brittney laughed as she followed him to the kitchen. "Thank you; my aunt sew it for me," Asriel replied, stating a fact that she already knew. "Oh, are we making Oran berry salad?" Brittney asked when she saw everything on the counter. "Yep; all the way from the dressing to the finished product," Asriel told her, getting her to smile. "Alrighty then; I will start with the dressing," Brittney said, making her way over to the sink to wash her paws.

"So, any plans for today?" Asriel asked her as he resumed slicing the berries. "Nothing much; just Netflix and a bowl of Ice Cream: supposedly, Booth or Bones is going to die in the last episode," Brittney answered; she loves the show Bones, a show that Asriel himself was starting to get into because of her. Without answering, Asriel set down his knife before going to the freezer, pulling out a gallon tub of Vanilla Ice Cream, a bag of crushed Oreos soon following. "Really Asriel? Just, really?" Brittney laughed as she mixed the dressing, throwing in a few Tomato stubs into it, being sure to crush them deeply, mixing the juice into the mix evenly. "Hey, if Bones is going to die, I want to be prepared," Asriel replied with a sniff, getting Brittney to laugh again.

When they finished with the salad, Brittney suggested they make an Entre for their meal. "Sure; what do you think we should make?" Asriel replied as he was putting away the salad ingredients. "Hmm... Do you have raw chicken breasts?" Brittney asked. "Yeah; just got them yesterday," Asriel replied. "Do you have flour, butter, and stock?" Brittney then followed up. "Yeah; all in the fridge," Asriel fired back, pulling out said ingredients shortly after. "Great! Then we can make  Chicken and Gravy" Brittney said, clapping happily. "I will work on the chicken, you do the gravy; deal?" Asriel suggested. "Sure; by the way, should we invite Nightmare over for lunch?" Brittney asked.

As far as Asriel knew, Nightmare was operating fine, if not happier than usual; at least around them anyway. "Sure; can you call him? I already have the raw chicken in my paws," Asriel asked her, moving the chicken to one side of the counter. "Sure; be back in a second," Brittney said, leaving the kitchen. "Also, should we let him help us cook? He sure can," Brittney said, smiling as she popped back in.

Durning the last week of school, Nightmare had really started to outshine all the students, doing things that rival what Mrs. Seer makes: Asriel personly thought that there was a competition between the two to see who can make better food. "Sure," Asriel replied, nodding as he cut off the fat of the chicken. As Brittney left to make the phone call, Asriel concentrated on doing a great job.

"Hello self" a faint voice suddenly said, startling Asriel; it sounded familiar. Deciding to ignore it, he continued with his de-fattening. "Asriel..... Asrieel....." the voice suddenly said, drawing out his name, making Asreil snap up from the cutting board, about to speak: he froze at what he saw.

A Lucario was sitting at the bar, smirking at him with purple eyes, its fur all black with scars running all over its body. 'Ah, so he finally sees me' the Lucario said, sounding pleased.  Asriel was too stunned to speak. 'Yes, I am you, and you are me' the creature in front of him said, leaning forward like it was saying a secret. "What do you mean?" Asriel asked out loud. "Who are you talking to Asriel?" Brittney called from the living room. Seeing the creature smile wider, Asriel responded. "To myself; just thinking out loud," Asriel replied. 'Yes Asriel; talk to yourself' the creature smiled, mocking him in Brittney's voice. 'Who are you and what are you?' Asriel thought. 'Like I said, I am you, but your TRUE self' the creature responded. 'What the hell do you mean, 'true self'?' Asriel snapped back. 'Why, is it not clear? I am a part of you... the part you refuse to look at' the shadow replied with a savage chuckle. Asriel froze, the creature laughing like a demon. 'Yes, that is it; fear, true, rich fear' the demon crackled. 'LEAVE ME ALONE ARCEUS DAMNIT!!!!!' Asriel yelled, almost throwing the knife at the creature; the only thing that stopped him was Brittney walking back into the kitchen. "Nightmare will be over in a few minutes," Brittney reported as the creature vanished.

Oh no, is Asriel starting to go... Insane? Stay tuned to find out!
