Birthday

The room was dark when Asriel woke up; not the slow drift to wake up, but the sudden boom wake up. Looking at the alarm clock, he noticed that it was 8:37. "OH SHIT!!" Asriel yelled, bolting out of bed and diving into the closet, putting on the first two things he grabbed after changing. 'I am going to be late!' Asriel thought, running out of his room, slinging on his back pack as he charged into the kitchen to see Leirsa calmly eating a bowl of cereal. "Lesira, we are going to be late! Hurry up!" Asriel exclaimed, throwing two waffles into the toaster before running off to go do his chores. Leirsa just sat there during this, staying seated and slowly eating his breakfast.

"Why aren't you dressed?! Go change!" Asriel exclaimed when he came back into the kitchen. "Bro, there is no need," Lesira replied, standing up before walking over to his brother. "WHY? We need to get to school!" Asriel retorted, snagging his waffles out of the toaster. "Asriel..." Leirsa said, placing a paw on his leg, looking exhausted. "What?" Asriel asked, now calm.

"Oh," Asriel responded, feeling really stupid as his brother started to laugh as he made his way to his cereal. "You can relax now," Lesira laughed as Asriel sat down. "Are you sure? I could have sworn today was Friday..." Asriel stated, looking unsure. "Yes I am sure; today is May 18th, a Saturday if you look at the Callander," Lesira replied, flicking his spoon at the small one on the fridge door. "Oh," Asriel replied when he saw the date and day, now slightly angry at himself as he munched on his waffles, now with syrup when he realized that he had time. "Anyway, any plans for today?" Leirsa asked his brother. "No; I was thinking about hanging out with Brittney today," Asriel replied.

"You are not going to spend your special day with family?" Lisa said as she entered the kitchen, looking at her son with a smile. "What do you mean?" Asirel asked, Lerisa looking at him with a look saying he was stunned. "It's our Birthday!" Lesira exclaimed.

"Someone just slap me now," Asriel sighed, getting the Riolu and Lucario to laugh as Lisa started to make her own breakfast. "You can invite Brittney for us for the day though. But before you call her, we are going to the Mystic Bakery," Lisa told him with a smile. "For what?" Asriel asked. "To get your birthday cakes of course!" Lisa said.

Asriel just groaned as he slammed his head on the counter. "Today is not going to be my day," Asriel said, getting his family to laugh at his actions. "Okay, before Asirel hurts himself again, I will go get ready for the day," Leirsa said after he washed his bowl, chuckling as he went to his room. Asriel also left, but to go call Brittney, entering her number as he walked into his room.

She picked up on the third ring. "Happy Birthday!" Brittney started, getting Asriel to smile. "How did you know- you know what,  never mind. I was wondering if you were free for today," Asriel asked his girlfriend. "Oh, sorry; I am in charge of making you and your brother's cakes.... but after that I am," Brittney said, getting Asriel to perk up from being disappointed. "Okay; we will be stopping up there in a half hour, I think," Asriel replied. "Alright; see you then," Brittney replied, hanging up to voices in the background.

'Today is going to be interesting' Asriel thought to himself as he changed into more casual clothes. Little did he know that someone was watching him. 'Indeed young Jason; more than you could ever know...'
