Asriel groaned as he opened his eyes, a stabbing pain in the back of his head. 'Where am I?' Asriel thought as he sat up, swirling mist all around him, obscuring his feet when he stood up slowly. A chill seemed to be in the air as Asriel looked around, shivering slightly when he saw only darkness. "Hello?" Asriel called, wincing with the pain from his mouth, trying to peer into the never ending darkness.
Only darkness responded.
Shuffling forward on the rough ground, Asriel called out again, ignoring the pain as he moved forward, trying to see anyone.... someone. "Asriel...." a whisper of wind said, making Asriel freeze for a moment, listening for the sound again.
The darkness stayed silent.
Moving forward again, Asriel kept his steps light as he focused on listening. A whistle of wind made the fog simmer, making the Lucario stop before a bright light flashed in his eyes. Crying out in surprise, Asriel covered his face with his arms, unable to see for a good while. The air felt warm as Asriel slowly opened his eyes, bright sunshine lighting up his surroundings. Asriel sighed with relief as he lowered his arms, his eyes now fully adjusted as he began to walk forward, the surroundings familiar to him, but he could not place a paw on it. 'Where am I?' Asriel asked himself again, looking for something familiar to trigger a memory.
"Asriel!" a voice suddenly called, making him whirl around to see his father standing on the porch, smiling at his son. "Dad!" Asriel called back, running forward to greet his father. However, as he got closer, his dad crouched down, just like he used to when he was a...
"Daddy!" a voice said, a Riolu running to the Lucario, the child embracing his father. 'Wait, then that means...' Asriel thought before he looked around, finally realizing where he was. He was back in his birth town, a village named Jagged Edge. 'Why am I here?' Asriel thought to himself, following the other two Pokemon into the house, freezing at what he saw.
Another Riolu was standing in the corner, the black fur and purple eyes looking directly at him. "Ah, so the Lucario has arrived..." the voice said, crackling slightly as his form shifted into a Lucario, it's smile savage as it slowly approached him. "What do you want with me?!?" Asriel yelled at the demon, rushing forward to throw a punch. When he was about to land the blow, the creature disappeared, only to appear behind him, slamming his own fist into Asriel's back, making the blue and black Lucario slam into the wall. Cursing, Asriel turned around, charging an Aura Sphere, but stopped cold when he felt a spike at his neck, the demon laughing deeply. "Never turn your back to an enemy!" the creature shouted, a dark purple sphere in his paws before slamming it into Asriel, the Lucario screaming out in pain.
"Who the hell are you?!" Asriel yelled, slowly getting up to his paws. "Of course you don't recognize me!" the creature raged, throwing Asrield through the window, Asriel screaming in pain as the shadow Lucario drifted behind him, scowling down at him in distaste. "Why did you live while I died? WHY?!?" the creature yelled, striking Asriel across the head with a savage kick. "What do you mean?" Asriel said as he spat out blood, confusion mixing with the pain.
"Did mom and dad not tell you? Oh wait- or course they did not!" the demon yelled, kicking again. "What do you mean 'mom and dad'?" Asriel grunted, finally able to block the attack. Yelling out in rage (or was that torment?), the creature hauled Asriel's bloody form off the ground and glared into his eyes, the purple seeming searching, if not desperate.
"How could you not recognize me?" the creature mumbled, dropping Asriel with utter defeat. "I don't know you, let alone till I did the Aura Transplant!" Asriel yelled back, spitting out blood at his feet. The creature blinked like it was holding back tears before its form shimmered, shrinking down to a normal Riolu as tears fell. "Brother" the Riolu sobbed, falling to the ground in tears as something broke in Asriel's mind, a wave of memories washing over him like a tidal wave, tears falling out of his eyes with each memory.
"Leirsa," Asriel cried, the name he has forgotten tasting like venom as he scooped up his twin, hugging him, collapsing as tears fell. "Brother!" both Pokemon yelled, joy leaking into their voices as Asriel collapsed. "I have missed you, so much," Asriel sobbed, feeling the grief of all the years past in the few moments instantly. "I know; your mind had been grieving for the past few years now, but I did not know the reason. I thought maybe a family member had died, like Grandma," Leirsa replied, smiling at being able to talk with his brother once again.
A sudden boom filled the air, making Leirsa snap his head up, pain in his eyes. "Brother, you have to go!" Lesira yelled, looking around in a panic. "No!" Asriel yelled, wanting to stay with his brother longer. "GO OR YOU WILL DIE!" Lesria screamed, fear in his voice as he pulled his brother up, pushing him to where his brother arrived from. With an earth shattering crack, a bolt of pure darkness shot from the sky, aimed at Asriel. With a terror filled scream, Leirsa slammed into Asriel's back, sending him flying forward.
Stumbling into the darkness, Asriel whipped around to see his brother in mid-air, a black spike piercing his chest, tears in his eyes. "Good bye, brother..." Lesira whispered, a smile on his face as he looked at Asriel, the memory slowly collapsing on in itself. "NO!!!" Asriel yelled, reaching forward and holding on to his brother's paw, trying to make him stay as he was lifted away. "I have to go; it is my time at last," Lesira murmured, tears soon mixing with the blood on his chest. "NO ARCEUS DAMNIT! YOU ARE STAYING WITH ME!" Asriel yelled, desperately looking for a way to keep his brother with him. "I am sorry Asriel; there is nothing you can do," Lesira murmured, his paw slipping from Asriel's.
"NOOOO!!" Asriel screamed, his depression and anger soon fusing into one as his vision flickered, a blinding flash surrounding him before he passed out, a silent scream of rage filling his mind.
HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THINGS POKEMON! Asriel's insane side is his BROTHER?!? OH, MY ARCEUS! What happened? WHY do these ideas keep popping in my mind? WTF?!? Anyway, stay tuned to find out what happens next!
