Elle's POV
Kahit resigned na ako, I still go to office to finish what I need to finish. I didn't bother talking to anyone anymore. Sa palagay ko din ay matatapos ko na ito. Ayoko na talagang bumalik, ni ayaw ko nang makita ang building na ito! Pero kailangan dahil ako ang nakipagcommit sa client kaya tatapusin ko ito, kahit mabigat sa loob ko.
I go to office late and go home earlier than usual. Bakit pa ako magstay ng matagal? Kapag sa tingin ko ay okay na ang nagawa ko for the day, umaalis na ako. Madame doesn't say anything. I hope she realizes that it's her fault.
Naisip kong pumunta sa mall, para kasing gustong gusto kong kumain ng sea food. Ano ba yan! Baka mamaya magka hasang na lang ako at kaliskis. Ilang buwan na ba ako hindi kumakain ng pork at beef? Ewan ko ba.
"Hi Ma'am, order na po kayo?"
"Hi may baked tahong ba kayo?"
"Ay Ma'am out of stock po ang tahong."
"Aw sad naman nun. Sige grilled salmon na lang at isang clam chowder."
"Rice Ma'am?"
"Hmmn, no na. May watermelon ba kayo?"
"Ripe mangoes lang po ang available."
"Sige yun na lang."
"Drinks po?"
"Four season."
"Okay Ma'am, 10-15 minutes serving po."
"Okay thanks."
After 10 minutes, dumating na nga ang order ko. I was so busy munching my food when my phone started ringing. Dahil unknown number, naka ilang decline na ako pero ayaw pa rin tumigil. Haii nako, nageenjoy ako kumain eh.
On Phone:
Elle: Hello?
Otherline: Hi! May I speak with Ms. Jacquelle Raeanne Suarez?
Elle: Yes speaking. Who's this.
Otherline: Hi Ma'am, I am Steph, I work for WorkboxPH, Ma'am pwede daw po ba kayo mainvite ng boss ko for dinner tomorrow?
Elle: Hah?
Otherline: Ms. Katherine, the head of PR department of WorkboxPH would want to invite you for a dinner tomorrow at Shangri la Manila.
Elle: Yeah sure. By what time would that be?
Otherline: Can you meet her by 6:00pm Ma'am?
Elle: Sure.
Otherline: Thank you very much Ma'am. Please be there. Thank You again Ma'am and have a pleaseant evening.
Call ended.
Nakakapagtaka naman, why is the boss of the bigggest Marketing Agency in the Philippines would like to meet me? Haii, there's only one thing to find out. Pupunta ako sa meeting.
I didn't go to office this morning. Mejo masama ang pakiramdam ko. Nahihigh blood na ata ako sa kakakain ng sea food kaya panay na panay ang hilo ko pagkakabangon ko sa morning. Anyway, I am preparing for a meeting with Ms. Katherine. Her name is actually synonymous for the best service. Kapag si Katherine Rosario of Workbox ang gumawa ng event, expect it to be magnificent.
It's 10 minutes before 6:00pm nung dumating ako sa restaurant and surprisingly, I saw a smiling Ms. Katherine already there.
"Am I late? I am so sorry Ma'am." sabi ko as I approached her.
"Ay ano ka ba! Excited lang talaga ako. And please don't call me Ma'am. You can call me Kate!"
Okay, so she's so friendly and all. I never imagine a PR head this kind and jolly.
"Let's order?"I smiled at her and look at the menu.
We give our order to the waiter. At syempre, sea food na naman ang order ko.
We talked about ourselves, our job, what we do. We talked as if we are friends for a very very long time. 'twing may bidding kami, sya ang pinaka-ayaw ko makakatapat kasi for sure, she'll ginna sweep off the deal without even exerting a lot of effort.
"Elle, the bottomline of meeting you here is to ask you to take care of my baby. Can you please replace me?"
"What?" Gulat na tanong ko
Aba, matindi na nga ata ang pagkastress ko at mali mali na ang naririnig ko. Replace? Ms Kate? hindi ata synonymous.
"I want you to replace my position in WorkboxPH. The only person who beats me on all the project bid is you. I researched for you actually and you being a competition brings out the best in me, the best of my team and everyone."
"Why? Are you leaving?"
"Yeah, I have a month and a half before leaving WorkboxPH. I'll continue my Ph D degree in Singapore and I'll gonna work for WorkBoxSG. I actually personally ask my boss to let me look for my replacement. And here I am pirating you."
Nakatingin lang ako sa kanya. Para syang anghel na bumaba sa langit dahil sa sinasabi nya.
"WorkBoxPH had been my family, my child, my husband, my parent" She sighed. "I'm an orphan Elle, I live alone and WorkBoxPH is the only thing that keeps me breathing. As much as I wanted to stay, I want to also pursue another degree. So I don't want to leave this position to a random someone."
"I've been your fan. I saw your projects and they were all magical. What can I do to make you say yes to my offer?" Tanong nya ulit
Hindi ako makapagsalita, I am still absorbing everything she's saying.
"Whatever term you want, please let me know. Name your price Elle. Please? We'll skip everything. I'll buy out your bond to the Velasco. Just say yes and today, you're hired."
Napaiyak na ako at niyakap si Kate. Akala ko wala na. Akala ko mahihirapan ako. Good Lord! Thank you po.
"Yes, Kate but please help me."
"Ofcourse Elle! We'll be working hand in hand. Congratulations, you are now the PR head of WorkBoxPH."
I happily accepted the offer. After I was rejected as a manager of the Velasco Corp, I resigned, I almost lost hope. But here is an angel, believing in me. Putting my hopes high again.
Pero bago ang lahat, ikinwento ko sa kanya ang nangyari sa Velasco. She was happy to hear that I can start very soon. She even offered positions to my four angels Cara, Luna, Mike and ofcourse, my assistant, Angel.
"We hope you can report soon. I will ask people to arrange your office. You may even bring your assistant as I am going to bring Steph with me."
"Thank You Kate. You don't know how this means to me." Sabi ko then I hugged her tight
"Oh Elle, this was mutual. I know you'll take care of this very much. I saw how you pour out you heart, I know, I made the best decision."
With a happy heart, I was able to end my misery. Sana naman ito na ang yang ng yin ko.
