Today is valentine's day, this is one of my wife's favorite day. But today, she's busy with our company event. I told her I'm sick to excuse myself and have time to prepare.
Ever since we got together, I see to it that Valentine's day be special mostly to my wife.
Our kids were all grown up already. Because she had problems with her uterus, we cannot have another child. The day she knew it, she got so sad. It take her a lot of time just to accept it. As I was always telling her, it may be our destiny to grow old together alone, just the two of us, coz maybe, destiny wants us to enjoy those days we missed.
So it makes us live alone as husband and wife. And being just the two of us together everyday makes us fall in love with each other everyday of our lives.
Well, Eiffel and Paris both grew up well. Paris is now running a business. He do well on managing on his own. While my Eiffel's in the Philippines. She's having a good career there. I can't blame them, my Eiffel's really beautiful amd talented. Usually since she's far, I send her flowers every Valentine's day.
Today, I decided to just have our Valentine's day at home. I don't want to be part of the crowd anymore. Getting old has hits too!
I cooked for us. I have been trying to cook this recipe for about a month or two now. I'm pretty sure this tastes good already. So I prepared the table and make sure there's wine. My wife's favorite. Things you do for love.
I also asked an artist to draw my wife. I have put it in our stair wall just after she went out. If my wife won't get mad at me, I would even put her face all over our house.
I was excited and a bit nervous. I've been doing this for what? More than 15 years? And yet, these things always makes me nervous.
The event started in the morning but would end a little late. I just hope my wife didn't enjoyed much so she goes home earlier.
And my prayer was granted, my wife went home earlier. Good thing I have prepared everything already. Upon entering, I started singing, the thing she loves most.

I gave her the flowers that she loves, tulips ofcourse, her favorite.
"Thank you Mahal ko. I love you so much. So much."
"I love you more. C'mmon, I'll show you my gift."
She was so surprised seeing a huge painting portrait on our wall. The love of my life, I still don't know what I did right to have her beside me.
