phoe·nix
/ˈfēniks/
noun
(in classical mythology) a unique bird that lived for five or six centuries in the Arabian desert, after this time burning itself on a funeral pyre and rising from the ashes with renewed youth to live through another cycle.

Muscle to muscle, toe to toe, hand to hand, eye to eye. A pain from within, all adrenaline and then ecstasy.
When it was all over, he laid her head on her chest. "It's so cold," she said.
"This is where everyone goes, Silvia. Either by the lake or in some broom closet," Arlin explained.
She nodded. "Gryffindor has a closet called 'make-out closet.' One time, I caught my brother in there with..."
Arlin raised his head. "With who?"
"Sienna," she said quickly, looking up at the orange-leafed trees.
"So," he said, propping himself up on a bent arm. "Are you going to the quidditch match today? My turf against yours."
"Arlin! Of course I'll be there, remember? I'm Gryffindor's newest seeker."
He laughed. "That's right. Seven years of rejected tryouts, and Silvia Lupin is finally seeker."
Silvia smiled. "Don't be so rude!"
"It's you against me, then, baby." He stood up and buckled his belt. "C'mon, we're going to be late for pregame practice," he said, holding a hand out to help her up. She took it quickly and continued to hold on after she had stood.
"World's greatest beater. I want to join a professional team," Arlin admitted. "I think I can do it. I'm way better than Anastasia."
"We'll just have to see about that."

"The game is neck and neck, ladies and gentlemen," Selene Coldwater announced over a loudspeaker. "Kingsley Shacklebolt, a second year, and perhaps the youngest goalie in the entire history of Hogwarts, blocks yet another shot taken to him by seventh year Hufflepuff keeper Thaddeus Kenra."
Kingsley deflected a shot. The crowd cheered.
"Perhaps the golden snitch can be the only thing that can help win this game. But who will catch it first? Hufflepuff third year Augustus Montgomery, or Gryffindor seventh year Silvia Lupin?"
Silvia caught sight of the snitch floating right about Kingsley's head. She hurried to the goal posts, outstretching her arm.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe Lupin's spotted the snitch!"
Silvia sighed. Cover blown.
"Hufflepuff beater Arlin Clydesdale is really taking a, well... taking a beating! Looks like he can't play the game without his big sister around!"
Arlin growled as he swiped another bludgeon away. Shut up, Selene.
"Oh, and it looks like Lupin has taken a hit from Clydesdale's bludgeon!"
The ball had hit her in her outstretched arm, just inches away from the hovering snitch. She cried out in pain as her arm bent the wrong way.
"Lupin's going down! She's lost balance on her broomstick!"
"Silvia!" Arlin cried, terrified.
The last thing she felt was the ground.

"Silvia... Silvia..."
She woke up in a hospital bed with her friends surrounding her.
"Guys, she's awake!"
Silvia reached for her head. "Did we win?" she groaned.
Sienna and Lydia exchanged a look. "No, actually. Montgomery was following you and caught it immediately after you fell."
"Damn Selene Coldwater."

Dear Silvia,
A lot of us from school have decided to join group of anti-death eaters. It's called "the Order of the Phoenix." Dumbledore created it when we were kids. We meet in Arthur Weasley's home. He's perhaps one of the nicest men I've ever met. He and his wife already have three kids, and she's having twins next year! For their sake, I hope they stop there.
The Order has truly changed my perspective on matters outside of school. You-know-who is a very dangerous man. We've all been training to take him on, but it's a tedious task. We all risk our lives daily to protect the rights of students and muggles alike. Some members have even laid down their lives for this cause. If I had to give my life to know that you are safe, I would.
With this letter I've attached a list of defensive spells and instructions on how to cast them for you and your friends to study.
Sienna hasn't spoken to me since graduation. Let her know that I hope she is well.
Yours truly,
R.J. Lupin
