Author's Note

I'm sorry sa disappointment ng story na 'to. I tried to write this the best I could pero...Huhuhu.

So here I'm going to share a background of how this story was made. You might want to sit back and relax 'cause this is one heck of a story.

I wrote this after I've watched the movie 'Kita Kita' (which I must say is a good movie) Kaya wala masyadong detailed at  mahabang scenes to build up the moments they have or there are unseen scenes  kasi I wrote this in kind of movie type flow of  story.

This all started out as an innocent question I had in my head, "what would it be like to write those movie scenes in a story? The kind that will make you feel like you're watching it while reading." And then suddenly, I pictured this scene in Japan where two strangers met and through a circumstance they end up spending their time together. 'Cause, come on. That's one of the most typical plots ever created. But I am not very familiar with Japan so I used Korea instead 😅

Characters, aside from the fact that this is MikaSa fanfiction, I choose Alyssa as the fun and adventurous type as mostly the fanfictions I've read deemed her as the serious one or the bad girl. It also sealed the deal when through videos that I've watched it's obvious that Alyssa is more sociable with strangers than Mika (saw most videos of Alyssa talking and having fun with foreign volleyball players/people) Not saying that Mika can't or wouldn't but rather that's how I've pictured they are as they appeared in this story.

The letters are random. It was part of the initial plot however the quotes/letters are nothing but impromptu/random ones that end up sounding like poems. Those actually wasn't planned to be there or in any part of the story and is supposedly just a dragging topic but then I felt that somehow you anonymous readers should have a glimpse of what are inside those sad letters rather than skipping the whole thing like that and throwing the very reason why Alyssa decided to find Miss A.

The most difficult struggle I had overcome was to manage the time to write this along with writing drafts for my other works. If this isn't obvious enough then I am outright saying I am a lazy person. That alone makes me wonder why I have decided to be a Wattpad writer and try to do weekly updates when most of the time I spent hours looking at the blank sheet of paper in front of me and keep wishing the inner writer in me kick in. Yeah, that's how I am. Hay.

On a positive note, unlike most of my works this one's special. Aside from the fact that this is written in TagLish third person narrative, the very reason why I created this story is because this is my late gift for all those TeamBabe and ChiCap monthsaries I had given no present such as one shots or double update to greet you all (plus ang daming ganap natuwa si MikaSa heart). Thus, I give you my ultimate gift that I had released on the stroke of midnight on the 23rd day of August (I fell asleep kaya 12:10am ko sya na publish😅)

As for the title, 17, aside from the seventeen days that they've been together, it was because of this equation:

        2 + 3 = 5 (Mika's Jersey HIghschool and College)

        9 + 2 = 11 (Alyssa's Jersey HIghschool and College)

That's in total of 16 and then again plus 1 as it stands for one or unity.

Yeah, I just made that up. Hahaha. The real reason to that is the thing my friend had told me before about how she's counting the days she's been with the "love of her life" in rather detailed way e.g. 1 year, 8 months and 3 days. Thus, tada! 2 weeks and 3 days is born! Hahaha. I actually wanted to put hours and minutes but then I dislike math or numbers in that concept and who actually does that anyway? So...yeah... Hay.

For the ending, I honestly wanted to end it in a way where I would leave you hanging or where as you'll end up thinking I deleted the last chapter. An open-ended scenario of will they live happily ever after or will they not? But then I thought of, if I were the one reading this I might curse the author and spam him/her a demand for a proper ending. And so to avoid any voodoo that might take place, I wrote an ending that I still has an element of both a happy ending and an open-ended scenario as well.

Yeah, that's all there is to tell folks. I hope you guys enjoyed the story as well as the background story of this story. #RIPMeForRedundancy
