•I'm going where?•
*3rd person pov*
-Sheriffs office-
The four teenagers were sitting in Sheriff Stilinski's office. Only three of them were paying attention to what he was asking them.
Two of them were coming up with excuses as to what happened yesterday night. One of them hasn't spoken a word since the incident."Lydia?" Nothing "Lydia?" She heard him that time so she slowly looked up into the sympathetic eyes of the sheriff. "I wanted to talk to you alone if that's alright with you? We have to discuss a few things and I'd rather it be private" Lydia looked over at her friends and gave them a weak smile, they knew that meant it was okay to leave but that didn't stop them from trying to listen in.
Lydia watched as the sheriff looked through a bunch of documents. She was numb, scared, and broken. She should have seen it coming, she should've know it was her dad that was in trouble, she should've tried harder to save him. She was weak, she couldn't fight back, she didn't have claws like Scott, or training like Allison, she had voices in her head that told her when people were going to die. Why didn't they tell her it was her dad? Why didn't they help her? Why didn't th- "Lydia are you with me?"
The sheriff asked while looking at her with the same sympathetic look in his eyes. She nodded while quietly apologizing, a stack of papers were place in front of her. She didn't look at the papers she just stared at the sheriff.
"I know you're going through a lot right now and this will most likely make it worse but I wanted to talk to you about your mother.." he started while looking in her eyes for any sign of emotion other than sadness."She ran off after I was born, she didn't even name me she just left, I don't know anything about her" she whispered while looking down at her hands. The sheriff sighed and sat back down in his chair, leaning forward, catching her attention.
"You don't have any other family here that we could let you stay with...she's your closest legal guardian Lydia".
Lydia looked up, she knew what that meant, for the first time since her dad had died she stood up with confidence and a steady voice"I will not stay with a woman who didn't want me, a woman who didn't even name me, there must be a reason why she left me so why would she want me now?"
The Sheriff was taken back by her sudden confidence but he quickly composed himself before standing up as well.
"If there was anything I could do Lydia that's what I would be doing right now but I can't and I am so sorry but you'll be leaving tomorrow morning. I think it's best that you start packing tonight and maybe stay at Allison's for the night. An escort will pick you up tomorrow." He stated with authority but the look in his eyes showed that he was telling the truth.
"Can I at least know where I'm going then?" She whispered while looking down, all the confidence she just had slowly deflating.
"A small town in Virginia.." he started, Lydia looked up wide eyed. Virginia wasn't a short drive away, the sheriff noticed but continued
"A small town called Mystic Falls".
