Lydia stood at the front door, her brother with a bag slung over his shoulder and a teary eyed Caroline. Klaus had threatened Tyler to leave Mystic falls or he'd kill him so that's what he was doing..leaving...again.
"It's okay you guys, everything will be okay-" Tyler started but he was quickly cut off by the blonde beauty. "How is this okay Tyler, Klaus killed your mother and then he's threatening to kill you unless you get out of town and never come back-I'm almost certain the second we turn our backs he'll find you and do god knows what!" Caroline rushed out, the tears dripping down her face as she spoke. Lydia hadn't said anything yet, first of all she wanted them to have their moment and second, she didn't want to say goodbye to her brother..again.
"I have to go...don't think of this as goodbye okay" he spoke while placing a hand on both girls shoulders, that's when Lydia broke, a stray tear slid down her rosy cheeks as she held her breathe to stop the sobs from escaping. "Caroline I love you so so much and if I could I would never leave, if I had a chance against him I would fight until the end..but right now I don't, I promise someday I will see you again" he told Caroline, kissing her lips one last time.
"Lydia, the first time I met you I didn't know what to think..I had just found out that my mom had cheated on my dad with another man and had a child with him. Most people find cheating as wrong and claim it was a mistake, mom may have been guilty for being with another man but she would never ever see you as a mistake. I saw that whenever she was around you, she wanted to protect you and even though I was still skeptical..I knew you had no fault in this and I became just as protective as she was, maybe even more. You said that moms last words were for us to stick together and to never stop fighting for each other, just because I'm not here doesn't mean I will stop loving you and stop protecting you. I know Stefan will do everything he possibly can to make sure you're safe, and I know that no matter what, no matter how long I'm gone I will always love you..both of you.." Tyler so poetically spoke, Lydia held in the urge to laugh as she's never heard him speak like this before.
"Now close your eyes.." he told the two girls, they looked at each other and held hands as they looked back at Tyler once more before closing their eyes. Lydia's eyes flew open quickly as she wrapped her arms tightly around her brother, kissing his cheek quickly before grabbing Caroline's hand and closing her eyes once more. "I love you both, please never forget that.." he whispered, placing a kiss on both girls cheeks before vanishing. As the girls opened their eyes, they saw nothing...he was really gone. Lydia looked over at Caroline who had tears streaming down her face, she quickly moved to wrap her arms around her blonde best friend who very gratefully accepted the hug, wrapping her arms tightly around her best friend.

-Next day-
Lydia and Caroline has stayed at the Lockwood home once more before heading home the next morning, Lydia knew that Tyler had given the Lockwood home to Matt, his name was now on the lease so he now owned the house. Lydia knew that Tyler did that to make sure if she ever stayed there she would be safe, he knew that she would probably move in with the Salvatore's (which she did) so he was also content with knowing they would protect her at all costs.
Lydia was making her way over to the Salvatore boarding house, she left her car there a few days ago and Caroline used her vamp speed to go home so she was stuck walking. She made it up to the front door, extremely grateful for the lazy day outfit she decided to wear as she probably would've broken an ankle if she wanted to look good in her heels.
Before she could knock the door had opened with a very stressed out Stefan behind it. He smiled and pulled her into a hug, he knew what had happened yesterday but he was still happy to see her. He kissed her head and wrapped an arm around her waist as he pulled her into the home. He was very happy to know that she would be living with him, he wished it were under different circumstances but at least he knew she'd be safe..well, safer.
He had told her everything that had happened, she already knew about what happened on the island, she knew about Elena's humanity switch, and she knew her and Damon had gone on a trip but that was it. Apparently he brought her along so that he could keep an eye on her while also looking for the cure, a lot of things happened and Elena and Rebekah teamed up to find the cure but ran into Kathrine who had the cure but wouldn't speak up. Elena pretended to be Kathrine and met with Elijah, Kathrine gave Elijah the cure and him and Rebekah would most likely give it to klaus who would destroy it, and finally crazy Elena and Damon were on their way home so that they could find a way to flip her switch back.

Lydia's head was spinning but she shook it away, she needed to know this for when they got back. Oh god Elena was going to go back to her normal bitchy vampire self...this'll be great.
