*3rd person pov*

-Highschool-

Lydia had just gotten her schedule and was looking over it with Tyler to see if they had any classes together when she heard a loud voice just outside of the office.
"That'll be Caroline" Tyler said with a bit of a laugh. Lydia followed him out the door and there stood a pretty blonde girl with two other girls behind her.

"Oh my gosh you must be Lydia, Tyler's told me all about you! I'm Caroline and this is Elena and Bonnie!" She said excitedly while pointing to the girls behind her.
They both waved and said hello. Lydia said hello back and went quiet again. For some reason she was so shy and quiet now, she's changed so much since her dad. She hoped she could go back to how she was before, she didn't like this new her.

"Is that your schedule? Can I see it? Oh look you have history with Elena and Bonnie, and math me! We have math first so I'll show you the way there. I can show you we're your locker is too! It's right beside Bonnie's, lets go!" She said while walking away. Lydia stared in shock. How was she not out of breathe?Bonnie and Elena laughed.
"Mom forgot to give this to you this morning" Tyler spoke up handing Lydia a little box, the gift Carol was talking about. She opened it and saw a brand new iPhone, she forgot her phone was cancelled back in Beacon Hills. "I can't accept this Tyler-" "Yes you can and you will, my phone number is already in it and so is moms, now I have to go I'll see you after school" and then he walked off leaving Lydia standing there even more shocked.

Caroline came walking back up to the girls and said "You were supposed to follow me, I was talking to myself for like two minutes! Come on-wait is that your phone? Here" she grabbed Lydia's phone and started typing, handing it back to Lydia when she was finished. "There, Elena, Bonnie, and my phone numbers are in there so you can text us whenever, now please actually come with me I need to show you around before the bell!" She said turning around to walk again.

Elena and Bonnie grabbed both of Lydia's arms and laughed telling her she'll get used to it. They followed Caroline to a classroom, she saw a plaque above the door, Math. They all walked in and saw Caroline talking to the teacher.

The teacher listened to Caroline ramble on about how Lydia was new and how she wanted her to sit next to her so she could help Lydia, little did she know Lydia was actually a genius.

"Okay Lydia, you can sit next to Caroline she help you with what you need, if you have any other questions come ask me. Welcome to math class!" He stated while handling me some work and returning to his marking.
Lydia was dragged over to where Caroline sat while Elena and Bonnie trailed behind. The four of them started talking about how they should all hang out soon but the bell stopped their conversation.

Lydia waved goodbye to Elena and Bonnie as they left looking back at Caroline started talking about how they were all going to be besties. Their conversation was cut short by a book slamming down on Lydia's desk, it was some random girl.
She had brown hair with terribly dyed blonde streaks, terribly overdrawn lips and huge fake lashes, and her nails where at least an inch or two long (she wasn't sure which were longer, her fingernails, or her toenails). She reminded Lydia of an Oompa Loompa and a pretty girl wanna be.

"Who are you and why are you in my spot?" She spit out with venom in her voice. Lydia looked at Caroline and knew Caroline was about to fight back but Lydia felt something she hadn't felt in a while. She felt confident.
"I was told to sit here, I'm new my name is Lydia Martin" Lydia answered back while putting on her pretend polite face.
"I don't care if you were 'told to sit here', this is my spot. Move" Lydia smiled and answered back simply "why don't you find somewhere else to sit before we have a problem" the girl stared at Lydia like she had two heads.

     Lydia swore she could see steam coming out of this girls ears, "I don't think you know who you're talking to" she answered back with as much sass as she could. Lydia being the queen she is snapped back with "I think I'm speaking to someone in desperate need of a pedicure, I'd be happy to give you a referral" she smiled after, knowing she just won.

The girl looked like she was going to explode but she sat down in another seat anyway. Caroline looked at Lydia and whispered "That..was awesome! You are my new best friend!". Lydia smiled and stared at the front as the teacher began speaking.

"I need two people to come up to the board and answer these questions.." he looked at his clipboard, and then looked back up to the class "Ashley your up and..Lydia. I know you're new here so you don't have to answer if you don't want to." The girl that tried to pick a fight with Lydia was smirking as she stood up. That must be Ashley, Lydia thought as she watched the girl smirk at her thinking she had just won.
Lydia smirked right back and stood up telling the teacher it was alright. As everyone else wrote down notes in their books, Lydia and Ashley walked up to the board. Ashley kept muttering some pretty discouraging words but Lydia brushed it off like it was nothing.

Ashley started to answer the questions while Lydia just looked at them, answering them all in her head before quickly writing them all down. Ashley looked over at Lydia in surprise while Lydia just smirked and walked back to her seat.

Caroline was blown away at how confident Lydia was, she loved this girl already. Lydia sat back down and shared a knowing look with Caroline as they both continued to write out notes. Well that was an interesting class.
