I know that there is a lot more that happens after the whole Esther trying to kill her children thing but my impatience is getting the best of me so I'm taking the lazy way and skipping everything until before Elena is turned.
I really can't wait for Lydia and Stefan to finally get together!
Anyway I'll just tell you what happened during the little time skip:
•Jeremy is compelled to leave
•Kol leaves as well
•Lydia and Stefan become closer friends (she'll find out about his ripper past soon)
•Alaric finds out he's killing the council
•Sage comes back to help but betrays
•Alaric's alter ego almost kills merideth
•The link spell is broken
•Matt stakes Finn and sage dies with him
•Damon and Elena go to Denver to check on Jeremy and find Kol
•Trying to find who they're sired to
•Kol kills Mary (I love this scene!)
•Alaric becomes a vampire
•Klaus is "dead"
I pretty much just told you everything that happened in the episodes before Elena's death. This sounds really bad but I can't wait for Stelena to break up so that Lydia and Stefan can rise.
