                           •You helped me•

*Stefan's pov*

6 against 1, I'm not really liking those odds but it's a game I'm willing to play.  I ran at one of them, tackling them to the ground only to have someone pull me off, holding my arms behind my back.
I shoved the guy off me and turned around to rip out his heart but both of my arms were grabbed and held behind me, I tried shoving them off but two is stronger than one so I stopped struggling as much.
The guy I tackled ripped a huge branch off of a tree and smirked at me before driving it through my stomach. I fell down onto my hands and knees, weakened, I was going to lose and klaus would surely kill me.
The other two that were holding me stood back a couple feet as the man I tackled threw a few punches, I was healing but that didn't mean it didn't hurt a bit.

"Check the basement" they guy I tackled said to the other three that just stood back.  Oh no. Lydia's down there too, they'll kill her and get the coffins.  I don't know who this Lydia is but for some reason I don't want her to die.
I looked over towards the entrance of the ruins and what I saw next made my heart jump, Lydia was just walking up the steps and outside. What the hell is she doing? "Run" I managed to get out loud enough for her to hear, I saw her eyes go wide when she saw the branch in my stomach but then they squinted, she was...angry?

"Who the hell do you people think you are?" She asked with sass.  Jesus Lydia run!

"Take her down" I heard behind me.

She just smiled and opened her arms as if welcoming them to try. She wasn't scared.  Was she a vampire? No I heard her heart beating, what is she?
The three guys kept walking up to her, when she did something I was not expecting.

     She screamed.

*Lydia's pov*

I walked up the steps and saw what was going on, Stefan had a branch in his stomach and there were 6 other guys standing there.
I heard Stefan say run and I felt my body try to make me move but I fought it, I wasn't leaving him like this.

"Who the he'll do you think you are" I asked with sass practically dropped from my lips.  I heard someone say 'take her down' and then three men started walking up to me.
I smirked and opened my arms wide, time to show them what a banshee's really made off.
They got about 6-7 feet away when I felt that bubbling feeling in my stomach, I took a deep breathe and screamed.

I pushed the scream towards the three men throwing them back into the trees, knocking one out while the other two fell to the ground in pain, wood sticking out of their backs.
Stefan looked at me in surprise but winced once he felt the pain gone back, I told him to try getting the wood out while I dealt with the other three.
Two ran at me and once again I sent them flying back with another scream, running down towards Stefan not seeing where the other guy went..

"Are you okay?.. no stupid question you have a tree stuck through you..umm can you rip it out?" I asked rushed, nervous that the men would get up again.

"Lydia run" he wheezed out while looking behind me, the last guy.  I turned around ready to scream again but he sped to me and slammed me against a tree. He held me by my neck and smirked, I heard a groan behind him, Stefan.
I started scratching at his hand, my air supply running low. I felt like my lungs were burning as I stared into the mans eyes. Suddenly his eyes went wide and then he just fell to the ground, dropping me at the same time.
I looked at the man lying there and noticed something missing. I looked up at Stefan and saw what it was. His heart. Stefan dropped the heart and wiped his hand on the mans jacket before reaching over to help me up.

"Are you okay?" He asked worried, while looking me over, checking for any other injuries.  I just nodded yes, still shaken up and trying to catch my breathe.  He looked around before looking back at me

"I need you to go back into the basement while I

"I need you to go back into the basement while I..clean up" he told me while looking around, I nodded and shakily walked back to the basement.
A couple of minutes later Stefan was walking back down the steps, wiping left over blood of of his hand. He must've killed the rest of them.

"You helped me..thank you" he told me while looking at me but quickly looking down.
"I've heard stories about you.." I told him.
"Where did you hear these stories?" He asked already knowing where she heard them but wanting to hear her say it. He knew she heard them from his friends who seem to now be hers as well.
"You might want to sit down, its kind of a long story" she told him while sitting on the ground wrapping her jacket around her body tighter.

*3rd person pov*

She told him everything, where she came from, what happened to her, whys she here, everything. She didn't know why but she was comfortable telling him all of this even after what she just witnessed.
He listened to every word she said, taking it all in. He quite liked this girl, but he quickly pushed those thoughts away remembering Elena. But then again she's got something going on with his brother so is it so bad that this girl interests him.

He liked listening to her talk, she spoke with confidence, every word leaving her lips was thought out, she spoke with emotion while telling her story, she was passionate

He liked listening to her talk, she spoke with confidence, every word leaving her lips was thought out, she spoke with emotion while telling her story, she was passionate. He like that. He like that she was willing to risk her life to help him, a stranger, someone she's only heard story of. When she finished her story he began to tell her his, she listened with just as much interest as he had when listening to her.

He didn't tell her his full story, just what had happened recently, she seemed really interested in what he had to say, she didn't interrupt or voice her own opinion, she just listened. She eventually had to leave as Carol was wondering where she was so she promised to meet him again soon so she could hear the rest of his story.
He watched her walk through the forest and for the first time in a while, he smiled a genuine smile.
