-Lockwood mansion-

Lydia had just gotten back from the grill, she had learned a lot more about her three new friends. Elena's parents had passed away when a little while ago leaving her and her brother with her aunt Jenna but she had passed away recently as well leaving them with her history teacher Alaric Saltzman.

Caroline's dad wasn't around very often and neither was her mom but she had been getting a lot closer with her mom recently, and finally Bonnie. Her mom left when she was really young, her grams was really close with her but she had also passed away not too long ago. Lydia tried telling them as much as she could about her life without getting into anything supernatural. She felt a lot closer to the three girls after they talked about their lives. Lydia felt like she could talk to them about anything..well anything but her supernatural problems.

Anyway, while Lydia was at the grill before they all left she remembered what stiles had told her. She had the feeling when she was around Caroline the most so when Caroline hugged her goodbye, the feeling amplified. She had a feeling towards Bonnie as well but it wasn't death, she'd have to look into it more.
Lydia sat upstairs in her room while Carol and Tyler were doing whatever they do somewhere else in the house. She had gotten a text from stiles, an internet link actually. She clicked on it and a website showed up, since it was a Friday that meant no school tomorrow so she didn't mind how late she stayed up researching.

She just wanted to know what was going on here. What she was getting herself into.

Mystic falls has always been a town full of stories. Rumours. Myths. It was said that vampires used to roam the town, not freely of course. The founding families are rumoured to have created a secret organization that hunted vampires. The council. Vampire we're seen as monsters, and monsters needed to be destroyed so the following founding families helped kill every last vampire in Mystic falls: Gilbert, Fell, Lockwood, Forbes, and Salvatore. Jonathan Gilbert was believed to have created a device, the Gilbert device, which would lead one to a vampire. The vampires were stabbed with vervain, a herb used against vampires, and staked with wood through the heart, killing them. During the Battle of Willow Creek in 1865, it was believed that the Fell church had been where the vampires were taken after they were captured, coincidentally the church had caught fire that very night. The council told the town that enemy troops had shot at the church believing it to be housing weapons, killing 27 people. Those 27 people were actually the vampires captured. The church was said to have been set ablaze during the battle happening near by so not to draw any suspicion to what events had actually happened. Little did they know that they had all survived. There was a tomb under the church where the vampires were hidden, a spell set by a witch, Emily Bennet. The spell was believed to be protecting the vampires with a crystal owned by the Bennet witch. The story is said to only be a story but some believe the small little town of Mystic falls is full of dark secrets.

The Mikaelsons. The originals. The first ever vampires to walk the earth. The story of the originals was nothing more than a story. There wasn't much history on them, all anyone knew was that they were dangerous. Really dangerous. 1001 AD is when they are believed to have been born, where they are believed to have been turned into monsters. A family of 9, living a normal life as normal people. Esther Mikaelson, the mother, and her sister Dahlia were witches. Esther and Dahlia were captured by Vikings and used for their power to heal the wounded, they were kept prisoner as well. Esther had found out she was not able to have children so her sister performed a spell on her, giving Esther the ability to have children. Though it came with a price. The first child of every generation. Esther had given birth to her first child, a daughter named Freya, a son named Finn quickly followed. Following her sisters wishes, Freya was given to Dahlia. Mikael, the father, was very fond of Freya and when he had come home from his Viking journey, Esther told the lie that Freya had gotten the plague and her body was burned to stop the spread. Esther then got pregnant with her second son, Elijah, not wanting to lose anymore children, the family had moved away to the 'new world' as it was called. They settled in a location in which the future would know as Mystic falls. Their neighbours were powerful wolf men. Werewolves. Mikael had become a fierce warrior, helping the werewolves at battle. Esther's friend and mentor who had moved with the family to the new world had become the village healer. She was a witch as well and taught Esther how to use her magic. She had quickly become a powerful witch, known by some to be the most powerful of her time. The loss of Freya had hurt Mikael and he grew distant from his wife. Esther had taken quite a liking to one of the werewolves, Ansel, whom she had started an affair with. Becoming pregnant with his child she realized what Mikael would do if he found out so she returned to him. Niklaus was born and renewed Mikael's hope for a family. Three more children were born, two boys and a girl. Kol, Rebekah, and the youngest Henrik. Mikael had become harsher as a result of Freya's loss, though he loved his children he wanted them to become fierce warrior like him. His children eventually came to fear him. As Niklaus got older, Esther's fear of him killing someone and triggering the werewolf curse, therefore revealing her affair, pushed her to spell a pendant for him. The pendant was made to weaken him and stop him from triggering the curse. His real father was banned from seeing him but still stayed close by when the time came of the curse being triggered, he would need his help. Mikael saw how Niklaus was weaker, causing him to view his son badly. Despite how Mikael saw Niklaus, the family was a close one. When Mikael had started abusing Niklaus, his mother taught him to him a song, a song her and Dahlia hummed while they were held captive by the Vikings in the old world. However, Niklaus and Henrik were so fascinated by the werewolves, they had snuck out one night, against the village rules, causing Henrik to be killed by a werewolf. In desperation to protect their remaining children, Mikael and Esther had agreed to place a spell over their children, to make them faster and stronger than the werewolves, and to have their own fangs to attack. To have heightened senses and to be unable to be truly killed. Esther called on the power of the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree for immortality to make her children stronger and immortal while magically using the blood of a doppelgänger to allow them to be reborn as this new species. But for every new strength a weakness plagued them. The sun that gave them life, burned them hiding them indoors until dark, vervain that grew on the white oak tree would burn them and prevent mind compulsion, neighbours who had once invited them in could now keep them out unless invited in, and the wood of the white oak tree, the only thing that could end their immortality by killing them. The worst weakness was the hunger for blood as it was what had made them what they are, they craved blood above anything else. In their hunger, the children killed half of the village, draining them of blood. After Niklaus' first human kill, his curse had been triggered revealing his mothers affair. Mikael went on a rage killing the rest of the village and then killing Ansel himself. He then forced Esther to surpress Niklaus' werewolf side by using the blood of the doppelgänger. Furious by his mothers betrayal, Niklaus killed her and then blamed Mikael. Mikael fled the village in a rage, Kol and Finn fleeing not long after. After burying their mother, Elijah, Rebekah, and Niklaus fled as well. The story of the Originals stops quite far back in history as no one had heard much of them after that. Giving the Mikaelson family the labels, legends, myths, bedtime stories, and so on.

Lydia finished reading the last of the information and sat back in shock, that sounded horrible. She felt bad for the Mikaelson family even though she didn't know them. She ended up falling asleep with her phone in her hands and a lot on her mind.
