Do you remember .....
When sharing meant your snacks and not diseases.
Alcohol was something you hated putting on cuts, instead of something you drank.
When getting high meant swinging as high up as you could on the swing.
The words "chug chug" were noises a train made.
When friends were forever.
Gossip was mostly about the birthday presents you saw in the closet.
When kids didn't die,
and you could do anything.
When a quarter could buy you anything and a dollar made you rich.
When fights where about who got the crayons first.
When drugs were bad because the Lion said so.
When staying up late was till 11pm
and cartoons ruled your world.
When pain was something you felt when you fell and could be healed by mommy's kisses.
When moms and dads stayed together FOREVER,
and you knew your prince charming was out there.
When you wanted to grow up to be a power ranger.... or a fire man.
When computers and cell phones were not important and outside was the best.
When boys were icky and girls had cooties
When the only babies little girls had were the ones with batteries....
holding hands and kissing was nasty.
When prayers were said and you knew God cared,
and getting sick would go away in a day or so.
When we thought all of our dreams would come true......
