Chapter 27: Coming clean

After talking to Amy, I spent some time alone and it was already getting dark, after that I went home and when I got there,  Brandon had already left. Everyone was getting ready to go to bed, "Hey buddy, we were worried about you" Uncle Alex said, "I'm okay" I mumbled.
"Oscar can I talk to you please??....outside" Luna asked and I nodded, we both walked outside and I closed the door, she looked at me and sighed.
"What is it??" I whispered while gently touching her cheeks with my thumbs, she slowly took my hands away. "Oscar, I'm worried about you" she said, "No kidding" I scoffed, "I'm serious, you haven't been yourself these past couple of days" she said. "You actually noticed" I replied.
"Of course" she said, "What is it you wanted to talk about??" I asked, "Um, I want us to be friends again" she said.
"So we stopped being friends??" I asked, "Um..I guess so" she replied, "Luna, tell me how you really feel cause right now, I think you're just feeling guilty" I said. "I don't know how I feel" she replied, "Luna I'm not gonna lie to you, I always loved you and I still do. Seeing you with Brandon just made me snap, and I realized how much I need you, I broke it off with Amy because it was always you and nothing's going to change that, it's always going to be you." I said.
"Oscar, that's not fair. I'm with Brandon now and I really like him, we were young and we didn't know what love really was." She said and those words hit me hard, "I get it Luna, sorry for ever thinking that we could actually be something" I said coldly.
"Oscar I'm sorry" she said sadly, "You know what, forget it. When you make up your mind, you can come find me but in the mean time....just leave me alone." I said while I opened the door, and went inside leaving Luna outside, "Everything okay honey??" My mom asked, "Yea, everything's fine. I'm just gonna take a shower and go to sleep" I said softly and she nodded.
I went upstairs to my room, I took a shower, brushed my teeth, and put on sweatpants. I just enjoy sleeping with no shirt on, it just cools me down at night. I got in bed and I lay down thinking about Luna, after a few minutes, my eyelids started getting heavy and I was off to sleep.

Luna P.O.V
I stayed outside and I walked in the backyard, it was beautiful. There were flowers everywhere, a bench that swings, and a water fountain.
I sat down on the bench and started swinging slowly back and forth. I was thinking about Oscar and all these things he said to me, I mean we were young, we didn't know what we were getting into. Suddenly, a tear rolled down my eyes then another one, why am I being emotional about this? I haven't cried since like forever.
While I was swinging, I heard footsteps and when I turned, it was aunt Molly. I quickly wiped my tears away, "Luna, it's time to get some rest sweetie" she said and I nodded. "Luna? Are you okay sweetheart??" She asked and I shook my head, she walked over to me and sat down next to me.
"What is it??" She asked worried, "It's Oscar" I sighed, "Okay, what about Oscar??" She asked. "He's put me in a very difficult position" I replied, "Let me guess, he's making you choose between him and Brandon" she said and I nodded. "Well, what do you want?" She asked, "I have no idea what I want" I replied sadly, "Well, let me tell you a little story" she said.
"So when I was a teenager like you, me and your uncle Jake broke up. So I moved away to be with my grandma, but she ended up having a stroke and she died." She said, "I'm so sorry" I mumbled and she nodded, "So there was this guy, Mitchell. He used to be my ex boyfriend at the time, so he went to my house and told Jake where I was, because he drove me to my grandma's that day." She said.
"Sounds like a nice guy" I said and she scoffed, "Anyway, he drove Jake, Alex, and Abigail to the hospital and I was so happy to see them. The doctor told me that my grandma died, I was devastated, so we decided to spend the night in a hotel, that same night Mitchell asked me to be his girlfriend again. I said yes, Jake was furious, Abigail was too because she didn't like him." She said smiling.
"Sounds like my mom all right" I mumbled smiling, "So, the next day I went to Mitchell's house to end things" she said. "Why? I thought you liked him" I said, "I did but as a friend. I only said yes because I was hurting, I was feeling lonely at the time" she replied. "What happened next?" I asked, "When I got there, I saw trails of clothes in the floor, I saw him in the bed with a girl naked and they were kissing. I was so hurt by what he did, Jake forgave me and understood me and we went back together, it was Jake all along, it was just me acting out" she said.
"So you're saying I should choose Oscar??" I asked, "I'm not saying anything, who do you want to be with??" She asked and I shrugged. "The universe wants me and Brandon to be together and I really like him" I said, "Forget about the universe, who does your heart want?" She asked and I shrugged. "You know Oscar's been planning your wedding ever since you were little" she said laughing making me laugh also, "If you don't choose him, please just make him understand okay?" She asked, "Okay" I mumbled. "Okay, enough said. Let's get you to bed" she said and we both went inside.
