Chapter 12: Can you at least try??

Alex P.O.V
Abigail ran out of the room because of what I said, I didn't even mean it like that, it just came out the wrong way. I love my family and I'm trying my best to take care of them but it's not enough, and she's right, I'm barely in the house. I don't even remember me having a father-daughter time with Luna, it's not that I don't want to be there for them, it's just that I can't. My work gives me no choice, I have to be in stupid meetings for hours instead of being there for my family, I want to quit my job but I have to work so I can provide things for my family, I better go find Abigail.
I searched every room in the house but I didn't find her, I decided to go to the balcony to think and there she was, just standing there and staring up at the sky.

I slowly walked up to her and I wrapped my arms around her which causes her to jump and gasp. "Shhh,shh, it's only me sweetheart" I said as I planted a kiss on her cheek and she relaxed. "I'm still mad at you, you know" she mumbled "I know baby, and I'm sorry for not being there for you guys, it's not that I don't want to---" she cut me off,"but you can't" she sighed. "I'm sorry baby girl, I really am" I said "It's okay, I just wanted my husband back, apparently that's not going to happen, is it??" She asked sadly, tears threatening to spill out of her eyes, I didn't answer, I just put my head down. "I thought so" she mumbled with tears in her eyes, she took herself out of my arms and started to walk away "Baby girl--" she cuts me off again "Baby girl nothing Alex!!!" She yelled in anger "I thought you would understand" I said sadly "And I thought you would understand that I just wanted my husband back, don't you see how I f*cking miss you, Luna misses you, it's always me and her, you're never here, can you at least try to be a good father to her??" She asked "Like I said, it's not that I don't want to be there for you two, it's just that I can't" I said "Right, choose work over your own damn family" she said as she walked out.

Abigail P.O.V
I walked out with tears in my eyes, Alex just doesn't understand how I miss him, he just doesn't get it. I was feeling sleepy so I went to bed, I guess after a few hours of sleeping I woke up with an aching throat. I turned towards the clock to see it was only 1:49, f*ck I thought, I was coughing so hard and I think it was because of all the screaming I did last night with Alex. Alex was laying beside me sleeping, I slowly got up and went to my medicine cabinet, I took a cough drop and some medicine for my aching throat. I went back to bed but I couldn't sleep, so I got up and went to the kitchen to fix myself a snack, I took some popcorn, went to the living room and opened the TV. I searched up Netflix and I started watching Vampire diaries, after a few minutes of watching the show, I heard someone coming down the stairs and I turned to find Luna staring at me, I quickly went up to her. "Sweetie, what's wrong??" I asked worried "Mommy, I had a bad drewm" she said, and I could see her eyes beginning to water. "Oh I'm sorry baby, mommy's here, you wanna watch Wild Kratts??"I asked and she nodded happily. I changed the tv to PBSkids and put on Wild Kratts, she giggled as she watched the Kratt brothers.

I watched the show with Luna for a few minutes and she fell right back to sleep, while I was about to go put her to bed, Alex came down and he saw me struggling trying not to wake up Luna. "I got it" he said while carefully taking Luna out of my arms, he went upstairs and I followed. He put Luna in her bed and kissed her goodnight or morning, we both went downstairs again in silence. We sat down on the couch still in silence, then Alex decided to break the silence "Um, I know you're angry at me and I don't blame you, I've taken everything you said into thoughts and I realized that...you were right" he said and my eyes grew wide. "I was right??" I asked "Yes you was right, I'm never here to get to know my wonderful family, I'm always going to worthless meetings and I don't even have time for my own daughter, and I also realized that no work is important more than my family. I am so sorry baby girl for all the things I said to you, I didn't mean them, if this work means I can't be with my family then it's not worth it" he said "So what are you saying??" I asked "I'm quitting my job, maybe I'll find a better one someplace else, it's just not right for me if it means I have to be away from my wife and daughter" he said and a smile grew on my face.

"You'd do that for us??" I asked while smiling "It's what you wanted, wasn't it??" He asked and I nodded. "I will do anything in my power to keep this family together" he said "Anything??" I asked while smirking, "Oh no baby girl!! Not happening" he said while shaking his head "Oh yes daddy, it's happening" I said smirking "Is that so??-- wait, did you just call me 'daddy??'" he asked "Maybe I did" I said teasing him with my hair "Me likey" he said. "Join me so we can watch seasons of Vampire diaries" I said in a British accent, "About you join me in the bedroom??" He said smirking "nice try, pretty boy" I said while turning the tv back to the show. "But babe, you like that show too much and you have work tomorrow" he whined, "Come on baby, pretty please with sugar and sprinkles on top, can you at least try to watch it with me?? Please" I begged with my best puppy eyes "Fine baby girl, but I promise you, I'll get you back for this" he said while bringing me closer to him "Thank you daddy" I said teasing "Gosh, I love that name" he said under his breath. "I heard that" I said causing him to blush, "Behave and maybe you'll get to hear me scream that name for you sometimes" I whispered seductively in his ear causing him to shiver, and I playfully bite his ear which causes him to groan, "You're such a tease" he said "I know daddy" I teased causing him to groan even louder, and that's how I knew I got my husband back.
