Chapter 26: Goodbye!

"It's time for a little story" My dad said. "About what?" I asked, "It's about me and your mother, and it's also about me messing up and me fixing the problem" he said.
"Okay" I said, "So before me and your mother started dating, I asked her to go on a walk with me. I really liked her so I was planning to tell her how I felt about her on that walk, she agreed to go with me. We held hands and after a little bit of walking, I told her how I felt and she told me that she liked me too." He said.
"What happened next?" I asked, "Well I kissed her and it was the best feeling in the world" He said smiling. "Then the trouble came" a voice said interrupting us and it was my mom, "What do you mean mom?" I asked.
"The next day, things got awkward between us and I couldn't even talk to your dad. Your dad thought he did something wrong so he texted me but I told him that things didn't need to be more awkward than it already was so he got mad and told me that we were done. I got mad, and I told him to forget about us." She said.
"Wow you guys had it rough" I said. "So how did you work it out?" I asked, "It took some work, she wouldn't talk to me, I went to her house but she didn't want to hear it. So she slammed the door on my face, I cried that night because I messed up." my dad said.
"So that same night, your father came and he sang a song for me. He brought a picnic basket, he told me how he really felt about me and I forgave him. He kissed me and we had a picnic together, then he asked me to be his girlfriend" my mom said.
"Well did you say yes?" I asked eagerly, "No" she replied. "Why not?" I asked, "because I needed time to process it all" she said and I nodded, "your mother said yes the next day when we were going to camp, and since that day we became girlfriend and boyfriend, and--well you know the rest of the story" My dad said.
"See buddy, me and your mother had a lot of obstacles in our ways but we never let those obstacles overcome our love and us." he said, "Thanks guys" I said sighing, "Honey, no matter what you're feeling for Luna, don't hide it from her just tell her, you'll never know what she'll say" my mom said. "Thanks mom, I will" I said and she planted a kiss on my forehead, my dad patted my back and they left.
I took a shower and went straight to bed after. After a few hours of sleeping, I woke up and went downstairs finding Luna and Brandon kissing!!!! "Ahem" I said startling them and they both turned red. "What's going on here?" I asked, "Oh, me and Luna are dating" Brandon said and I nodded. Luna looked at me with sadness in her eyes and I just looked at her and went to my room.
I put my black jeans on, my black long sleeve shirt, leather jacket and my black timberlands, I messed my hair up and looked in the mirror and nodded. I went back downstairs finding everyone in the living room, including Luna and Brandon. As soon as they saw me, they all went quiet, "I'm going out" I said codly. "Where are you going honey?" My mom asked, "I'm going over to Amy's" I lied and she nodded. "Don't do anything stupid" my dad said knowing exactly what I was feeling and I nodded, and left.
"Hello? Amy? Can you meet me in the park in 5 minutes? I need to talk to you, okay bye" I said and hanged up the phone. I'm hurt that Brandon got to Luna before I did, but I'm not just gonna sit and watch him take my Luna away from me.
After a few minutes of waiting, Amy finally showed up. "Oscar baby, what's wrong?" She asked while hugging me but I gently pulled away, "Amy, we need to talk" I said in a serious tone. "Okay, about what?" She asked, "about us" I said and she tensed up. "Amy, I'm breaking up with you" I said and her facial expression changed to sadness, "Why? What did I do wrong?" she asked on the verge of crying, "Look, I'm promising you that it's me and not you, Amy I'm gonna say this and I mean it but you have to listen okay?" I asked and she nodded.
"You are a beautiful girl and I'm sorry if I've ever been a jerk to you in some sort of way. Any guy would be lucky to have you in their life, you're caring and fun to be around, but I have some things in my life right now that are not going as I planned. I need some space to work it out, and I feel terrible because you've been so nice to me and I'll always treasure that Amy" I said and tears were running down her cheeks.
"Amy what's wrong?" I asked, "nothing, it's just---- it's the nicest thing no guy has ever said to me" she said sniffling. "Oh, I'm really sorry" I said sadly, "It's okay Oscar, you care for me but you care for Luna more" she said, "I can't help it" I replied. "I understand, we can still be friends right?" She asked and I nodded, "Well, I should be going" she said while turning to leave. "Amy wait" I said and she turned around, I went up to her and kissed her cheek and I gave her a hug, "Thanks for understanding" I mumbled into the hug, "Of course" she replied and we pulled away, she waved goodbye and so did I.
