I silently stare at him trying to fathom the situation. "Oh dear are you alright? You seem stunned."He sighs, "Ally we have been friends for a long time. Ever since you became general it has always been 'prince' and 'your majesty' and all that. I believe this isn't even the first time we would be dancing." He smiles. "Yes a lot of things have changed since then. I remember all the times I was told to stop playing with the maid's daughter but I knew that we were meant to be friends. I don't know maybe even more. But that can wait, all I want to know is if you would like to dance with me at the ball?"
I hesitate for a moment but collect myself. "Of course. For old times sake." A small smile appears on Zarioss's face. "Very well then. I can't wait. But I must go now. My father must be back and waiting for me." Once again he spreads his wings and walk over to the glass tube. After turning to me and waving goodbye he jumps down and flies back to the castle.
Prince Zarioss
A few minutes later I find myself Impatiently waiting by the doors of the throne room. Two guards stand beside the door unmovingly waiting to open the door for me. A few minutes later the lord who had been conversing with the king steps outside. He greets me and exits.
I walk inside the throne room. The king, my father King Zaidrus sits on the throne. His white hair perfectly combed to let the crown sit upon it with ease. His tired wrinkled face gazes at me. "Son. You have returned quickly. How was it?" He questions me. I stand in front of him. "If that you mean was I successful on asking the most powerful fairy out on a fake date then yes. I believe I was. But father..." He cuts me off. "I know what you are going to state, but you must think this in the eyes of a king. Would it not be better for the kingdom if the heir after you actually possessed the power to defeat any enemy? Look at us. We are weak. Powerless and under the protection of Analissa. This is our chance to make this line of royalty powerful once more." I let out a sigh and shake my head. "Father it is not the right thing to do. What if another has her heart? I do not wish to ruin her love because of your selfish desires!" His face lights up with fury. "Selfish?! I only want what's best for the kingdom! And you, look at you! You say all these things in the view of the general but I know your true intentions. I know who you love and it disgusts me. I would rather have you marry a peasant of no wings rather than him. Never mention such things ever again do you understand me? Now get out of my sight." I stumble out of the throne room to my bedroom.
