Chaptet 31

I make no sound as I watch their faces as they realise the sheer amount of guards surrounding them.

"Simone! Run! We will be right behind you!" I shout at them as I motion for Dominic to take flight with me. Soon we were hovering over the guards and making our way towards them.

I watch as Simone's face lights up but soon turns to a frown. Grabbing her hand as soon as I land I throw her out of the door and scream at her to run. She runs with dismay as Dominic follows.

Shouting out spell after spell I keep the guards at bay long enough for them to get a head start. I let my wings rest under the cloth but keep them ready for flight at any second.

"Zarioss run what are you waiting for?!" He simply begins shooting more men and ignores me. "We both know very well that you can't even save yourself! Stop trying to be a hero and run, I'm going to be right behind you!"

I could see the hurt in his eyes as he takes a step back from me, his eyes move to the floor and he begins running.

The amount of guards increase and I realise that I too must leave now. Blasting out a protection spell I spread my demonic wings and take flight. Seeing Zarioss running I grab his hand and pull him up as we make our way out of the castle window.

He glaces over to me and his face fills with terror. "Drop me! I can fly!" He half yells at me. I do as he says and watch him take flight just below me. Far ahead I could see the blue and yellow wings of my companions.

Off in the distance I could see a rally of angels fighting near the protection spell. There's a hole in the spell which is causing havok as the men and women try to fly to freedom.

I slow down and stop. Zarioss realises my activity and stops as well, befuddled by my actions.

I clear my throat. "Angels of the dark realm, it is I your queen!" They all turn towards me and I could hear them rejoicing. "This necklace here contains the soul of your past king, and if you intend for him to return to you unharmed then you will listen to me."

Silence

"Very good. As your queen I will sign a peace treaty with the light realm and will ensure your freedom, but king Adam has to pay for his sins so I will be taking him with me." Whispers could be heard.

"But how can we trust you?!" A woman flies up and questions me threateningly. "Because.." I bring my wings into view from under the shield of the cloak. "... Your king made sure that I become one of you, and in this act he made me belong both to this realm and the other. I do not want war, not do I want any more blood to spill. I will fix this mess if it is the last thing I do. "

The angels slowly began keeping their distance from the rapture. "But defy me, and you will end up just like the king. Or worse. "

With that note I fly towards Zarioss who's face was filled with shock. Grabbing his hand I retract my wings under the cloak but enough for me to be able to fly. We swiftly make our way through the hole that closes as soon as we land on the ship outside.

I take one last look towards the dark realm. The kingdom watches from far away. I bow my head to them and they do the same.
