Zarioss eyes me carefully as we all sit in a room on our way back to the kingdom. I had no idea how much time had passed but it felt like centuries.
"... And I'm such horrible friend and a person! I didn't do anything to help you but just stare, I was frozen like ice..." Simone kept on apologising even after I told her that she had no fault in the matter.
"How did you become queen?" I lifted my gaze from my cupped hands containing the necklace. "I was crowned two days after I was taken there." I simply stated. He kept his emotions neutral. "And you took an oath as you normally do when you are crowned. Have you betrayed us by doing so?"
I sighed, annoyed by his choice of words. "No. I did not betray you. I was simply acting on instinct to keep myself alive, and the life of another." He rose up and began walking around the room, seeming to be in deep thought.
Thinking that he had finally dropped the subject for now I closed my eyes.
"You are one of them now, you possess their power and you possess part of their wings. Who is to say that you are trusted?" Anger consumed me and at that moment I did not care who I was talking to.
"No Zarioss, I am not one of them! How dare you accuse me of such things after all I did for your kingdom for the past twenty years! You say this as if I had a choice! You say this as if this is what I wanted! I am tired Zarioss and everything hurts, you do not how it feels to possess dark power outside the realm of darkness but I do!" He was in utter shock.
"I think everyone should get some rest.." Simone spoke from afar. Her voice timid.
"No, no one is getting any rest. I declare you and the other angel as my prisoners until we find out how to control you." Just as I was about to speak, the door opened.
"That is enough Zarioss." We all glanced over to the new intruder. It was the former king standing at the entrance. Everyone that was seated suddenly stood up. He gracefully walks over to me and greets me with a kiss on the top of my hand.
"King Adam.." He began, "Sent me a letter two nights ago. It said that I had lost this war, that he was going to attack whenever he pleased with his new crowned daughter leading the army.
Frankly, I had lost all hope. I thought that he could turn you against us, but you managed not to fall into their trap. I spoke with the boy, Dominic. He told me that you were lost for sometime but in the end you won.
What I'm saying is thank you queen Analissa, for not destroying us even when you had the power to."
I was speechless. The king himself thanked me for not doing the worst. I nodded my head in response unable to think of words to say.
"We are almost at the kingdom, until we arrive I will make sure that your sister and the boy will receive full care and you aswell." his gaze shifted to Zarioss who had a face of complete embarrassment.
"Zarioss, walk with me. We need to talk."
