All Alone

Chapter 24

        Thankfully, everyone had a hoodie. (Most red heads and blondes did) They all pulled their hoods up and walked into town. Maxon was about to kill everyone.

       "We need a plan." Rosie said. She realized that Maxon needed to be kept under control.

       "I got one." Maxon said harshly.

       "What?" They all asked.

       "Get Skylar out!" He snapped.

        Jack and Bella pulled him to the side. "Why do you all of a sudden care so much for Skylar?" Jack asked.

       "Ya, you always yell at her." Bella added. She could tell Maxon cared for her. Like, CARED for her. When he was around her, he turned brighter. Yes, it wasn't very noticeable, but the change was there. She also had never seen him this worried.

       "You can't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you." He whispered. 

        They both crossed their hearts, no matter how stupid one of them may have thought it was.

      "I-I...." He paused. "Oh never mind!" He yelled.

        "You're in love with her!" Bella said, finally letting it out.

        "How!?" He paused and glared. "Did you read my mind!?" Maxon said angrily.

        He glared and looked around, checking the place out. He then turned to the others. "We are going to need all of us for this." He explained.

        The all headed back to camp to prepare. They had to do it that day otherwise Skylar would die.

        They would first have Mia and Jack take out the guards from above while Thomas took out the ones on the ground.

       "Rosie, how strong is your mind? Can you pick up a boulder?" Maxon asked.

        She turned and focused on one. She threw it in the trees.

      "Good Maxon said. "Jack, you need to teach everyone how to fight. Do as much as you can in the few hours we have." He turned to Rosie and Bella. "Bella, we will need you to blow open any doors we can't get through. Rosie, you block the doors with ice once we are inside. We can't risk having more guards coming in. Jack will search for Skylar's scent, and I will find the king."

      Everyone prepared for hours, until the time finally came. They made their rescue mission take place at night, that way, all the villagers were asleep, and it would be better coverage. 

      They all walked into town.
