All Alone

Chapter 31

          Sure enough, just when they thought this house would never get done, they finally finished it.

         "We finally did it!" Mia said happily.

          They got in a group hug. Everyone but Jack, naturally. At least, until Skylar pulled him in. When he tried to get out of it, everyone held him in. He hated it while everyone else thought it was hilarious and was laughing.

          They had been friends for so long. It was amazing how fast the time flew by.

         Skylar suddenly got a pounding head ache and put her hand on her head.

        "What is it Sky?" Bella rushes to her side.

        "Images...." She said. "Images I have never seen before..."

        "What are the images showing?" Thomas asked.

        "Me as..." She paused and took a nervous breath. "...as a princess.."

          No one was expecting that answer.

        "I used to dream about being one, but I never thought..."

        "Just because you saw images doesn't mean you are a princess." Jack said.        

        "But this didn't feel like a dream. It felt like a memory. I don't understand..." Skylar was getting worried.

        "Don't worry about it." Rosie puts her hand on her shoulder. Skylar smiled.

       "Guys, look." Jack points across the lake. There was a huge army on the other side.

       "They are looking for us." Maxon said angrily. 

       "They won't make it across." Bella tries to calm him down.

       "My father has gone to far." Maxon said. "It's time to take my rightful place as king." He turned to everyone.

        Skylar was shocked. She knew Maxon was a Prince, but no one really explained anything to her. They just mentioned it and walked off. She certainly didn't know that he was the son of the king who took her.

       "Wait!" She grabbed his arm. "You're HIS son?"  She asked him.

        He nods and Skylar falls to the ground.

       "Get her to the house." Jack told Bella.

       Bella did as she was told, but she couldn't quite pick her up. "Maxon, can you help me?" She glared, and said it as if she were demanding him.

         Maxon picked Skylar up.

       "Why did you tell her that?" Bella turned to him.

       "Why not?" He looked at her confusingly.

       "If she is a princess, that means she has to merry a prince!" Bella finally came loose. "Did u not think!?"

         Maxon finally got it. "Don't worry."  He said quickly.

        "You care for her, don't you?" She gave him a weird look. 

        "No!" He yelled. Then he stopped and took some thought into it. Did he really like Skylar? He continued on walking to the house with her in his arms.

       "So...." Bella looked at him and he gave a weak smile.

      "I won't tell Jack." She gave him a little nudge. He glared at her and she gave a little giggle.

       They get to her room in the house. Maxon put her in her bed while Bella started dinner.

       When Bella left, Maxon gave the unconscious Skylar a little kiss and left.
