All Alone

Chapter 30

         Jack had already gotten food for everyone. They ate dinner and headed to bed. This time Jack was keeping watch, and no one was changing his mind. No one argued and just went with it.

         A few times Skylar woke up screaming, and Maxon was talking in his sleep.

        After a long night, morning finally came .

       Maxon called everyone to a meeting. He looked around. "Where's Skylar?" He asked harshly, especially eyeing Jack.

        "I had her sleep longer. She kept waking up last night." Jack glared at him. Bella gave Jack a little nudge.

         "Why are we even here?" Mia asked.

          "I think its time we build a house, not in the village. I have the perfect spot too." Maxon answered proudly.

         "Where's that?" Thomas asked.

         "I'll show you when Skylar wakes up." Maxon said.

        "No need." Skylar walked over, rubbing her eyes.

           Once he noticed her, Maxon lead the group to where he had found Skylar yesterday. He points to the island in the middle of the lake.

         "There." Maxon turned to the group to hear their thoughts.

         "I like it!" Rosie and Bella say.

          Jack stares at the island for a bit. "It's far, but we could make boats to get across. We will also be out of harm's reach." He agreed for once. (Actually, an easier way to get across would just be the group riding on Jack's back as he flew over, but he wasn't letting anyone ride him. Mia riding him was a one time thing)

         "I like it." Mia says.

         Thomas gives a nod of approval.

        Soon, everyone turned to Skylar.

        "Nope." She finally said. Everyone groaned.

        "Skylar, come on!" Rosie said harshly.

         Once the girls and Thomas finally convinced her, they put their hoodies over their heads and went into town to grab supplies.

          The boys built the dock while the girls worked on making the boats.

          A few days passed and they finally set sail. Of course, it wouldn't take long to get to the island, so they got there pretty quick. They made it safely.

          Everyone split into groups to check out the island. Jack went with Rosie and Bella while Thomas and Mia went together. Maxon did his best not to be partnered with Skylar, but Bella made exactly that happen.

         At noon, everyone met back. 

       "So?" Thomas asked everyone.

      "It's got good food." Maxon said.

       "It's got a beach!" Rosie exclaimed.

       "It has excellent vantage points." Jack put in.

      "I like the place." Skylar finally said. Everyone agreed that this would be a great place.

      "Nice choice." Bella said.

       They all went back to work.
