John's POV

As soon as I had laid my eyes on the situation, I immediately tried to leave.

"Ringo!" George yelled as I turned to push past Paul and run down the hallway.

Ringo acted swiftly, and I must admit, a lot faster - forcing me into the room along with Paul, slamming the door behind the three of us.

George had given up with squeezing Kaylee into the cupboard - as he'd been busted - but he kept his hand on her arm, holding her behind him as though she could be sheltered from me.

I stood there, frozen, my eyes glued to Kaylee.

She was all I could see in this fucked up situation.

"John, I-" George started, swallowing hard and taking a step forward. "Why didn't you listen to Ringo and gone to the café?"

"No, wait." Paul interrupted, his voice rising. "What the hell is happening? I think you owe us a huge explanation, George."

I watched as Kaylee turned hastily to George, her eyes pleading.

She seemed terrified.

But, of what?

What more secret's do they have cooped up inside?

George's eyes flickered to hers, fast, but not fast enough.

"Look- I'm going to have to say it." He blurted, looking over at us, before placing a hand on Kaylee's arm.

"No! Wait! George!" She shouted, raising her hand to hit him, but George continued:

"Kaylee and Jimmy broke up last night."

At those words, Kaylee's arm relaxed and she seemed to breathe out in relief as though that wasn't what she thought he'd say, but her eyes still gleamed with anger.

They had broken up?

My heart soared at those words, but was quickly dropped back onto the ground and stomped on when I remembered her stomach.

But why should I care?

I was with Cynthia now.

Gorgeous, funny, chirpy Cyn.

Why was I still lingering on Kaylee?

"He broke up with you?" Paul screeched, and I looked over at him as he looked up, his face half furious, half insanely happy.

Good - He can have her.

Wait, what was I saying?

"No, no, no!" Kaylee responded, and Paul's eyes turned eagerly to hers. "That's not what happend."

Oh, so Kaylee will acknowledge Paul?

Gosh, we're back in the same situation again.

She had always payed more attention to Paul, his needs and what not.

It was fuck-all for me.

"I caught Jimmy with a groupie," Kaylee admitted, her voice making my heart soften. "I haven't told him yet, but the way I stormed out, I think he know's it's over. George was just trying to help; I had nowhere to go."

"You could have come straight to me," Paul cooed, but Kaylee flinched at his words.

I shot Paul a look of daggers, but he was too overwhelmed at talking with Kaylee to notice me.

Has anyone noticed that she was my girlfriend?

Has anyone thought of what I might be feeling about this?

About all of this?

"I don't think that would have been appropriate, Paul." Kaylee muttered, and finally, finally, as the Heavens opened above, her dark blue eyes looked over at me.

It was like everything in the room froze and all that could be heard was the sound of my heart, pounding away.

The feeling seemed to last forever, and the only thought that entered my mind was the realisation of: We can put this all behind us. We can start over, I promise I'll be a great father. I just want you back.

My silent plea must've showed in my eyes, because the gaze dropped and Kaylee began to stare at the floor.

I knew this look better than anyone else; she was thinking.

"Look, guys." George started, and we all looked over at him as he placed an arm around Kaylee's shoulders. "I want her to talk to Jimmy, and if this is final.. She's staying with Pattie when we get home."
