Grayson's POV
"So I told my family about us and took the heat for it." Malia said while we FaceTimed.
"What'd they say?"
"They brought up the whole you lied to me situation. To which I responded by saying that we weren't together, nor on a break, so I didn't really have the right to be mad. I don't know. Meg was the one that disagreed with this whole thing the most. Morgan and Marissa didn't say anything. Daniel and Mason brought up the point that it's my life and my decision and that they really don't have a say in it."
"Well to lighten the mood a little, are we gonna do anything tomorrow?" I asked.
"Are we gonna do that thing where we hang out with each other literally almost everyday again? Because being apart made me realize that that was the cheesiest and ugliest thing we ever did together. I think people hated us for being that couple."
"Keep in mind though, every so often, people actually came up to us and said we were relationship goals."
"I still don't know if they were being genuine or if they were messing around."
"Just think of it as they were being genuine. That's what I do. Makes me feel better."
"What'd you do to make yourself feel better when people started talking after we broke up?"
"Ignored them."
"It was different on my end. I was being called all these names because they all assumed I cheated on you and that's why we broke up. I mean I dealt with all of it and I really don't care what they said, but it was just awful."
"I'm sorry you had to go through that."
I just wanted to be there with her and hold her. Listening to all of this right now makes me feel so bad because I did that. I was the reason behind all of that.
"It's whatever though. It's their own wrong opinion. At that time, I just didn't have the courage to stand up for myself."
"What changed?"
"I don't know. I remember getting so upset that I punched a wall and broke my wrist. Once it healed, my family suggested I take some boxing classes or workout more to release all that anger."
"Wait. You broke your wrist?"
"Yeah."
"Malia."
"It was in the heat of the moment. I was going through our stuff and it just made me mad. I paced around my room not knowing what to do and I resorted to punching the wall."
"Malia."
"What?"
"Why didn't you talk to someone?"
"Because. My sisters would've said that you're an ass for being that unreasonable. Ethan probably would've said something to defend you. I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone. I literally couldn't talk to you so like..."
"I'm sorry."
A lot of the stuff that happened to her was all because of me.
"I did all of this to you." I said.
"No, that was my fault."
"Yeah, but if I would've talked to you, people wouldn't have been calling you names, saying you cheated on me. You were mad and upset at me and ended up breaking your wrist."
"It's in the past. So let's leave it there. It's where it belongs. Tomorrow, let's just go to the movies or walk around the mall or something."
"Aren't you still grounded?"
"They haven't mentioned anything about that so I'm just gonna say I'm in the clear."
"What are we gonna watch?"
"I don't know." she shrugged, "but if we go shopping, you can rate my clothing options."
"You look fine as hell in everything you wear."
"Quit lying to me."
"I'm not lying though..."
"Whatever." she rolled her eyes.
"Mal. Can we talk?"
"It's Morgan. I'll call you back later." she hung up.
