Once upon a time, there was a girl.
She had been given the power to understand other people's pain, but with an unknown cost: no one could understand hers. And as she traveled around the world, she let that pain affect her greatly.
One day, she met a guy. Seeing what he had gone through, she vowed to take away his pain so he could live in peace. The same unnatural forces who had granted her her power heard her vow and suddenly his pain was now hers, and she had lifted away his burdens.
Somehow, this guy had found out about her power and felt his heart break. Because he loved her so, he called upon the unnatural forces and demanded that he save her in his way. Laughing but granting his wish, the unnatural forces took away her power and transferred it to him. With the snap of a finger, his body was wracked with the hot and cold of emotional and physical pain but he had successfully gotten rid of her power. Yet that power was the only thing that had given her strength, and she passed away.
He had learned his lessons, and form that day, he walked the earth, going through what she left in the years of her life.
