Warning: The word f--- is said at least once. And ass.
"Is there something wrong?"
Aubrey stood apart from the others, facing the sun as they waited for the bus. She only shook her head once. "Okay, umm... If there's something wrong, just tell me okay?" Aubrey nodded, and the bus arrived.

The Day Before...
Tap tap tap. Aubrey's fingers danced across the keyboard. She was typing up a paper for ELA when the text message came in.
"Hey, is this good?"
Curious, Aubrey tapped the notification. Someone had sent her a long text, followed by "Oh and can you tell me if it's alright? Heehee!" Frowning, Aubrey checked it out anyway. As she did, her eyes widened. This was Sarah's ELA essay! How was she supposed to tell if it was good?? She texted Sarah back, telling her that it wasn't her paper and her decision, but that is was okay. The only response she got back was--"Oh well.
I have other friends."Aubrey almost dropped her phone in shock. I have other friends...? The phrase alone made her eyes tear up. Yes, Sarah had other friends, but this wasn't the response Aubrey had expected. She didn't reply back. Although she was too tired to get mad, her other emotions were spilling out like a hollow log full of water. Tears dripped onto the phone and blurred her vision. Her happiness was squashed into one corner and forgotten.
It took awhile until Aubrey finally gathered herself together and stopped crying. Her internet friends had comforted her and told her to think happy thoughts. She felt appreciated to be loved by those she didn't know. Aubrey wanted to confront Sarah about this at school, but it wasn't that easy. Sarah had no regard for the feelings Aubrey felt whatsoever. It was so hard to talk about things to her without getting angry or at the very least, grumpy.
But she knew that the world wouldn't end and that she'd make it through this and save their friendship.
At least, she hoped.

Aubrey stood apart from the others, facing the sun as they waited for the bus. She only shook her head once. "Okay, umm... If there's something wrong, just tell me okay?" Aubrey nodded, and the bus arrived. The children boarded the bus, and when Sarah sat next to her on the seat, it was hard not to push her off. "Are you sure--"
A quiet "Yes." was all she received.
Aubrey spent her first 3 classes moping about that conversation with Sarah over text. By the time the bell rang for Lunch, she was ready to go tell Sarah to fuck herself.
"Hey! Aubrey! Wassup!" Sarah's voice reached her ears and Aubrey winced. She didn't feel ready at all. "Hi."
"About this morning..."
"Go fuck yourself."
It had come out so suddenly, Aubrey was resisting the urge to say I'm so sorry. She went with "go fuck yourself." That text you sent yesterday night? 'I have other friends'? Do you know much that meant for me? A lot. Think about what you're going to say before you say it, Sarah." Aubrey spat out her name with force. "Look, I'm sorry! I didn't mean it like that! Can we just make up about this?"
Aubrey turned away from Sarah, deciding that that had been enough. Make up my ass, Aubrey thought. However, it was hard to stay mad at all for Aubrey, and over the course of a few days she forgave Sarah.
She still remembered it though.
