Luna's Story

"Luna yastaquiz!" I look up to see my older brother Augustus looking at me "Nam?" Augustus smiles "Sakhif! We have to go to school!" I smile "Maedhira I'll go get my clothes!" I grab my school unniform and put it on as fast as I can. I grab my backpack and school shoes. "Augustus wait up!" I run downstairs. My mom looks at me "Luna watati yakul!" I frown "La! Augustus will leave if I don't hurry!" My mom smiles "At least eat an apple thamin." I grab the apple and hug my mom "Masalama!" I run outside "Augustus!" Augustus and Jake my best friend look at me. Jake shakes his head "She's late again..Tsk tsk why can't she be like you." I become agitated "Jake you little!" Augustus grabs my collar "Lemme at him Augustus i'll show him the moves i've been learning in mix martial arts!" Augustus frowns "Luna that is only for self defense!" I look down "I was just joking....Let's head to school." On the way to school a couple of Augustus friends approach the three of us. They're all girls "Augustus hi!" I roll my eyes and whisper to Jake "Here comes a group of airheads." Jake smiles "They're all so hot! Augustus you get girls like this running to you all the time?" I frown and punch Jake on the head "Idiot." The girls catch up to us and two of them links their arms to Augustus. The third girl smiles at me *she seems nice. The other two..* I look at the girls who linked arms with Augustus *Those two disgust me.* Augustus smiles like always then looks at me. I turn around "Let's walk ahead Jake." I look around and Jake is staring at the girls. The third girl walks up to me "Hi i'm Katy." She looked so pretty "My name is Luna i'm Augustus sister." Katy smiles at me "Wow your so pretty." I'm shocked "No you're really pretty!" When we reach the school Augustus gives me a hug "Be good at school today and watch after Jake." I smile "You can count on me." I don't know when I stopped trusting people. It probably started with Katy. When I first met her she was the only girl who didn't go running to my brother but came and asked my name and for a second I thought she would make a great girlfriend for Augustus. After a couple of weeks only Katy would walk with me, Augustus and Jake. The other girls never showed up. Katy had a sister around me and Jake's age her name was Rachel and she started to walk with us. Katy soon ignored me and began acting like the girls that used to walk with us. She would link arms with Augustus and the funny thing was her sister acted the same way around Jake. "Luna." I look to Jake "Yeah." Jake looks at me and Augustus taps my shoulder "Are you ok. You seem quiet." I look up at Augustus "Actually i've been feeling.." I look up to see Katy staring at me. It was look someone would give to a bug and it made me feel small. I quickly made myself smile "No i'm fine i've just been thinking about school." Augustus looks at me with concern in his eyes then smiles "You've never thought hard about school because your a genuis!" Augustus ruffles my hair and I smile "Now that's a real Luna smile." I laugh and we reach the school and go our separate ways. I was walking down the hall when I hear Rachel talking to some girls from our class. "Rachel we saw you walking with Jake to school!" "Yeah you're so lucky!" I know it's bad to eavesdrop but I listen anyway. Rachel flips her hair "Yeah I know and my sister is using that Luna girl to get with her brother Augustus." I gasp and hit the garbage can next to me and fall. Rachel comes and looks at me the same way the eyes of Katy looked at me. "If you tell Jake i'll make sure life at school is horrible!" Jake runs towards me "Luna are you ok?" Rachel smiles and helps me up "Yeah she just tripped on the garbage can and we were helping her up." I frown she's not wrong but she makes it sound as if she's a nice person. I smile "Do you think a threat like that would have an affect on me?" Rachel grits her teeth "Luna you.." I smile "Both you and your sister can go to hell! And tell Katy that it's your fault she's lost her chances with my brother." Jake smiles "Wow Rachel and I thought you were nice." Rachel frowns "You i'll get you for this." I turn around "Go ahead there's nothing you have that will make me fear those words." After I stood up to Rachel she told her sister. "Augustus about Katy..." The doorbell rings and Augustus opens the door "Oh hi Katy. Hi Rachel." I swallow very loudly and turn around "Oh no..." The two walk in and Katy smiles at Augustus "Sorry for dropping by unexpectedly but I think Luna owes my sister an apology." I choke on the apple Juice i'm drinking "An apology?" Rachel glares at me then smiles at Augustus "Luna kicked me in the hallway and I fell knocking over the garbage can." I was dumbfounded and infuriated. "You liar! I oughta drop kick you for real right now!" Augustus puts his hand out and smiles "Luna is very strong for her age so can you tell me where she hit you? Since she's done that to Jake multiple times there should be some bruising there." I smile Augustus really can be a genius when he wants to. Rachel becomes nervous and looks at Katy. Katy glares at me and I stick out my tongue. Augustus stares at the two "Is there not a bruise?" Rachel becomes angry "No there isn't a bruise! All I wanted was to walk to school with Jake!" I'm shocked and look up at Katy "So it was true... I knew trusting people was a mistake especially snakes like you." Katy composes herself as Rachel runs out the door "I'm sorry about that I didn't know she was lying." Augustus smiles "It's ok." Katy exist the house "Do you think we could-" I look at Katy "No!" and slam the door shut. Augustus looks at me and I look away "Why can't you find someone good." Augustus looks at me "What if she was my girlfriend?" Those words broke the trust I had with my brother into a million pieces "I never thought you were naive Augustus...To date someone like her you must be the worst brother ever!" I run upstairs and lock my door. Augustus knocks and I ignore him. "Luna you have to tell me what's wrong or I can't help." I laugh "Augustus if your little sister told you to break up with your girlfriend would you do it?" There's a pause and I scoff "Exactly." Augustus sighs "Who told you she was my girlfriend?" I'm shocked "Well i just assumed.." Augustus smiles "Assumptions can get you in trouble now unlock the door." I unlock the door. Augustus looks at me then hugs me "I'll never date someone who makes my little sister cry." I begin tearing up "I'm sorry! It's my fault you never bring girls over because I judge them right away!" Augustus strokes my hair "If they can't pass your judgment then they aren't fit to be my girlfriend." I wipe my tears and smile "Thank you Augustus."
