Misunderstandings

I go to sleep and start to have a nightmare. I'm looking at the stars and Jake pulls me aside. "Luna I love you!" I wake up "NOOO! NO MORE NIGHTMARES! LEAVE!LEAVE ME ALONE!" My parents run into my room and i'm still screaming "PLEASE..." I begin crying my dad hugs me "Luna calm down it's ok." My mom hugs me too "Everything will be alright ok." I start coughing and my mom puts her hand on my head "Luna you'll be ok." FLASHBACK

My mom puts her hand on my forehead "Luna you'll be ok." I look at my mom "You're home?" My mom smiles "Yes I am." I hug my mom and she smiles and strokes my hair "Luna sometimes even though i'm your mother I can't tell what's going on inside your head...So you have to speak up." I look at my mom "I was always better with writing my feelings...Not expressing them." PRESENT

I stand up "I need to go to the bathroom." My dad looks at me "Luna will you be able to go to school?" My mom looks at me "Yeah you should rest." I force a smile "No a friend of mine is coming to school and I must greet them." I look in the mirror into my eyes "These eyes have seen too much..." I put my fingers to my eyes "It would be better if I couldn't see anything with them at all..." I stop myself "Happy thoughts...Happy thoughts..." I think of Ethan and shake my head "He'll soon be a part of my nightmares..." Later I get dressed for school and walk downstairs. Apollo looks at me "Luna are you ok?" I smile "Of course why wouldn't I be." Artemis frowns "YOU IDIOT!" I look at my sister "Artemis..." Artemis looks at me "Do you think we can't hear you every time you wake up from your nightmares?! We hear everything so don't...DON'T act like everything is ok! If you're upset we're here for you we're family...We're not little kids who didn't understand anything about Augustus death and couldn't comfort you. Let us help you." I look at Artemis "Stay kids I don't want you to see me broken because that can change a person and if anyone knows about being changed it's me." I walk out the house and to the school. I remember Jake's words "Marisa..." I enter the school gate and hear people talking "I heard Marisa is coming back to school." "Yeah Ethan must be happy." Michelle and Jasmine grab my hands "Luna!" I smile "Hi guys." I walk in the hallway and stop "Um guys who's Marisa?" Michelle and Jasmine look at each other "She's a close friend of Ethan." I smile "I see she must be precious to him." Michelle looks at me "Luna..." I look at my friends "We better get to class." Jasmine grabs Michelle's arms "Let it go we know how Ethan feels she just needs to understand it." I walk into the classroom and smile "Hi Jenny. Hi Mackenzie.Hi Kaleb. Hi Grayson." I walk over and see a crowd around Ethan and my seat. The kids turn around "Oh guys it's Luna." I see Ethan and a beautiful girl in my seat. Her hair wavy and eyes beautifully blue like Jake's. *Is this Marisa?* The girl stands up "You must be a friend of Ethan's. My name is Marisa." I look at the beautiful girl in front of me "Marisa?" Marisa laughs "I see you've heard of me what's your name?" I look at her "Luna." She smiles and her smile is beautiful "Luna? That's a wonderful name like the word Lunar and moon." I nod my head and Ethan looks at me "Hi Luna." I look at Ethan "Hi...That reminds me I need to talk to you." Ethan stands up "I'll be back Marisa." I step outside the classroom with Ethan "About yesterday i'm sorry I put you in an awkward position." Ethan looks at me "I understand you have feelings for Jake i'll root for you." My body grows cold "No that's not..." Marisa comes outside "Ethan come on." Ethan waves goodbye "Bye Luna." I stare at the ground "It's a misunderstanding..." Mr.Robinson comes towards the classroom "Hey Luna we'll be changing seats today." I look at Mr.Robinson "We're changing seats?" Mr.Robinson nods his head "Yup." I turn around "Oh I see..." I walk into the classroom and look at Jake and he stares at me. I sit in an empty seat since Marisa has sat in mine "Class we'll be changing seats." I look at the board "The window please...." "Come up and grab a slip of paper. On the board you'll see what numbers are next to each other." I grab a piece of paper "Number nine." Michelle and Jasmine walk over "Luna I got 13 i'm behind you!" Jasmine smiles "I got 14 i'm by you guys too." Kaleb looks at me "I got 5." I smile "You sit in front of me." Grayson high fives Kaleb "I got 6 i'm next to you." I look at Jake "What did you get?" Jake looks at me "10 which means i'm next to you and also you're welcome." I look at Jake "What for?" Jake smiles "For making Ethan jealous." I stare at Jake and he laughs "Yesterday I was on the phone with Mackenzie and we came up with the idea for me to fake confess to you." I stare at Jake and all the sadness in me leaves "You...YOU IDIOT." I punch Jake in the stomach and start crying happy tears "I don't need you to do things like that,but i'm glad you're my best friend." Ethan looks at me and Jake and frowns. Marisa looks at me then Ethan *is this the girl he always talked about?* Mr.Robinson looks at the class "Settle down now let's sit." I sit down and for a moment just a moment My body feels light and free of worries,but it only lasted a moment...
