Scared of Rejection

I wake up to see I had 10 missed calls and 22 messages. I check to see that both Jasmine and Michelle called me twice and Jake did once and Ethan did five times. I got messages from all four most of them from Ethan and Jake. I hesitate "I'll see them at school..." I shower and brush my teeth. I dry my hair and put on some rip jeans and a hoodie. I wear a snapback and look at the bracelet on my desk...The one Augustus gave me.

FLASHBACK

"Augustus is that a bracelet?" Augustus smiles "Yeah and I had it specially made for you." I smile "Can I wear it now?" Augustus hands me the bracelet "Want me to put it on for you?" I shake my head "No I can do it myself."

PRESENT

"If only I had let you put it on for me...." A tear falls down my face and My dad knocks and walks in. I wipe my face "Papa knock next time!" My dad looks at me "Have you've been crying?" He looks at the bracelet and I grab my bag and backpack "No.." My dad picks up my snap back and then ruffles my hair "You don't have to lie porque estoy aqui para ti." I smile "Ok now let's get going." My dad grabs my suitcase and I put on my travel backpack with my phone,apple juice,headphones,and pocky in it plus the bracelet." I get in the car and my dad turns the radio on. "This is dj gato coming live bringing some hot beats here it goes! La Bamba!" My dad smiles and pulls out the driveway singing along to the song "Para bailar la bamba Para bailar la bamba se necesita una poca de gracia Una poca de gracia y otra cosita Ay, arriba y arriba!" I laugh "Bamba, la bamba Bamba, la bamba Bamba, la bamba Bamba!" We both laugh and my dad parks the car "I got to go to the office. Can you show me where it is." I smirk "Of course anciano!" My dad laughs "You funny."

I walk out the car with my dad into the school. When walking i see a lot of senior girls looking at my dad waving. I look to see a girl run up to my dad "You are really handsome." My dad smiles "Thank you. You are beautiful." I scoff "Pervertido..." My dad wraps his arm around my neck "Mi hija let's go to la oficina." We reach the office and the lady begins flirting with my dad. "What do you need Mr.James?" My dad smiles "I like to have a copy of Luna's grade's and attendance to class." I freeze "Oh papa no you don't need to look at that!" The lady hands my dad the papers "Thank you." I walk to the classroom with my dad "You have outstanding grades...No es sorpresa ya que eres hija de Melissa." I smile my dad looks at me "But you're always missing class. Porque es eso?" I become nervous "To watch the clouds on the roof." My dad sighs "No more skipping classes." I nod my head. "Yes sir." We arrive to my classroom my dad walks in with me and everyone stares at him.

My dad puts his hand up "Hi." Jasmine and Michelle run over "Is this your sugar daddy?" My dad laughs "No i'm Javier Luna's dad." The class gasps and Jake walks over "It's been a long time Javier." My dad laughs and grabs Jake's hand and pulls him in "That's uncle to you buddy." Ethan gets up "It's nice to meet you Luna's father." My dad jaw drops "You look just like her...Your mother Rita." I look at my dad and he shakes Ethan's hand "Luna probably doesn't remember you but you remember her don't you?' Ethan's face turns red "Ah yes sir." My dad smiles "Nah call me Javier!" Mr.Robinson smiles "Javier it's good to see you again." My dad smiles and I stare at him "How do you know all these people?" My dad smiles "Solo soy popular." I grit my teeth "You can leave now." Jenny walks over "Are you sure you're Luna's dad because you're really handsome." My dad smiles and I pick my phone up "Yeah mama papa is..." My dad grabs my phone "Love you honey." He hangs up and hands me back my phone "Esta es la perra de la que me estabas hablando?" I nod my head "Si." My dad looks at Jenny "Hmmm ok i'll see you when you come back." My dad hugs me and I hug him back. "Nate can I see Ethan for a sec?" Mr.Robinson nods his head "Go ahead." Ethan follows my dad and Mr.Robinson settles the class down. "We'll be boarding the buses shortly so sit down and talk amongst yourselves." Michelle and Jasmine look at me "WE didn't know your father was so hot!" I speak in annoyance "Yeah and he's married so stay away." Jake smiles "Uncle has a way with women no wonder he was a fuckboy." I stare at Jake "Yeah but somehow my mom made him stop with her charms." Michelle smiles "Your mom must look like an angel." I smile "Well you wouldn't want a hideous person doing surgery on you." Jake nods his head I used to flirt with her when I was a kid "She's so beautiful and still is." I smile "Definitely won't bring her to school."

Javier takes Ethan away from the classroom "How are you doing?" Ethan smiles "Good." Javier makes a sympathetic expression "How is it at your uncle's house?" Ethan frowns "...I think he's mad that i'm smarter than his son Grayson." Javier sighs "Does Luna know you're mr.Rogers nephew and Grayson is the heir to the company?" Ethan becomes nervous "No...and I wouldn't want her to know." Javier looks at Ethan and smiles "Luna doesn't care how rich or poor someone is. Luna looks at character things that can't be bought with money which is heart, personality, and true friendship." Ethan smiles and Javier puts his hand on his shoulder "She'll probably ask you how do you know her from back then...Tell her she'll remember and it won't affect your friendship. But if you want to take it past more than friends you'll have to tell her the truth about you." Ethan frowns "What if she rejects me?" Javier smiles "I believe in you. Don't worry." Jenny Mccarthy smiles "This is interesting."
