Falling Slowly

The little things

 I walk around the house "What am I going to do...I finished all my homework..." I grab my workout bag and head to the gym. I head to the locker room where my family works out sometimes and change. I wear a sports bra and leggings. I lift and run on the treadmill. A guy in his 20's stares at me and I get uncomfortable. I look at my phone "Oh Ethan will be at my house." I put a jacket on and run outside. I run all the way home "I should take a shower." I close the door and run upstairs to shower. When i'm finished I put on some new clothes and turn on the tv "When is Ethan coming?" The doorbell rings and I get up and open the door "Ethan!" Ethan smiles at me "Hey Liliana can I come in?" Ethan walks in and he looks at the t.v "Criminal minds?" I smile "Yeah." Ethan looks at me "Good." He grabs my hand and leads me to the couch. I look at him "What are you doing?" Ethan sits on the couch and looks up at me "Tsk tsk i'm watching criminal minds." I smile "I'll go get snacks." I bring out some snacks and place them on the table. I make my way to the other couch when Ethan pulls me into an embrace. "You can stay with me." He looks into my eyes and I turn my head "Oh ok..." The two of us cuddle on the couch but i'm extremely nervous. My heart is beating so fast and it isn't because i'm watching someone dismembering a body. Ethan smiles "Don't tell me that Liliana James is getting scared watching criminal minds?" I scoff "Ha never." Ethan smiles "Well then why are you so quiet?" I think for a second "You're right...I am quiet maybe it's because I want to watch the show." Ethan looks at me and laughs "You're getting defensive which means i'm making you nervous." Ethan whispers in my ears "Are you afraid that i'm going to do something to you?" I look at Ethan "I wouldn't mind if you did." Ethan smiles and I put my finger to his lips "But i'm kinda trying to watch this show so can I take a raincheck?" Ethan looks at me "Well played James...Well played." I smile to myself and high five myself "What was that?" I look at the t.v "Self high five." Ethan sighs "I'm really lucky to have you as my girlfriend." I smile "You got that right." After another day of staying home alone I go to school. As I approach the front gate Ethan is waiting for me "What are you doing in front of the gate?" Ethan looks up from his phone "I was waiting for you." I become embarrassed "Oh uh well you didn't have to do that." Ethan walks towards me and grabs my hand "Well I wanted to." My face becomes bright red "How can you casually say things like I like you and hold my hand?" Ethan looks at me "Because I like you Liliana." I turn my head "There you go again." Ethan laughs and smiles "Look me in the eyes." I turn my head and he gives me a quick kiss and i'm shocked "EH?" Ethan laughs "Let's go to class." Ethan holds my hand as we walk down the hallway and i'm still thinking about the kiss he just took. *Why is it so easy for him to say do those things...?* People look at us "Are they dating?" "NO way!" "Ethan would never date Luna." Grayson and Kaleb look at us "Are you guys going out?" I stay quiet and Ethan raises my hand "It's official yup we're going out." Kaleb looks at me and I smile his face turns red.*That's weird..* I walk into the classroom and Jasmine and Michelle run up to me and I hug them. "Luna are you feeling better?" "Can we beat up you know who after school?" I look at Marisa and she smiles at me. I clench my fist then release "No..." A group of kids stand up "Ethan is it true you're dating Luna?" Ethan nods his head "Yeah." Marisa is shocked "WHAT?" I'm bombarded with questions and I sigh and smirk at Ethan "If I knew i'd be dating a celebrity I would've said no." Ethan smiles "Oh would you?" Michelle eyes widen "WOW you guys really suit each other!" I look at Michelle "Oh well thanks..." Jake walks into the classroom "What's with the commotion." Mackenzie smiles and holds onto Jake "Luna and Ethan are dating." Jake is shocked "What? Why?" Jake looks at me "Luna!!" I hug Jake "You haven't been visiting me anymore." I look at Mackenzie "You two should come over some time together." Jake looks at me "Are you dating Ethan?" I look down "Ethan says we are but I don't know how I really feel about it..." Jake looks at me "Then don't date him!" I look at Jake "...principle speaks into the intercom "Liliana James to the principal's office. Liliana James to the principal's office." I stand up and walk out the classroom into the principal's office and sit down. "Liliana I've heard rumors that you were pushed down the stairs. Do you know who pushed you?" I look up "I hit my head pretty hard...Why don't you guys check the security feed?" The principle laughs nervously "We would but the feed has been hacked." I sit back in my seat "I see well should I sue the school? I've studied law...I wonder if I could be my own attorney?" The principal becomes nervous "No uh that won't be necessary!" I raise an eyebrow "Oh so then what would be necessary?" The principle sighs "We know Marisa pushed you down the stairs we just need you to say that she did so her father can't say we corrected anything." I sigh "I'll handle things on my own so the school won't have to suffer." The principle looks at me "What do you mean handle things?" I stand up and smile "Let's just say i'll probably be suspended or expelled from school." The principal looks at me "Liliana don't do anything reckless." I leave the office and find that it's lunch time. Kids are eating outside and I look at Marisa "Hey Marisa I have proposition for you!" Marisa looks at me "What are you talking about Liliana?" I spit "DON'T say that name." Marisa smiles "Is it because you're brother who you killed use to call you that." I smile and Marisa is taken aback "Why are you smiling?" I look at her "You've done your research...So according to you i'm ruthless enough to kill my brother a blood relative. I wonder how ruthless I would have to be to kill an annoying girl who can't just take a hint?" I walk towards Marisa and she throws a punch and I dodge it. I'm about to kick her when Vincent and his gang show up "Leave Marisa our dear queen alone." I sneer "So you pretend to like Vincent to use his gang to your advantage huh dubious..." Vincent smiles "ATTACK!" I start fighting all the guys running at me hitting their pressure points. I walk towards Vincent and Marisa. Vincent charges at me and I trip him and hit his spine. He falls to the floor "You are by far the weakest person i've ever fought." I look at Marisa and push her she's on the ground. She looks up at me "You're a monster." I sneer "I could say the same to you." I raise my fist when someone calls my name "Liliana!" I turn around "Ethan?...Don't try to stop me I need to do this." Ethan looks at me "Do you really look around you." I look at everyone staring at me and the people I fought laying on the ground. Ethan looks at me *Her eyes are cold...* I turn around "We're too different to suit each other." I kick the dirt on Marisa and turn around when everyone cheers. "Luna is amazing she defeated Vincent's gang!" "Did you see her it was like an action movie!" "She sure taught Marissa a lesson!" Ethan frowns "Liliana..." I look at him and laugh "I guess you wanna break up now well it was fun while it lasted..." Ethan grabs my wrist "No I won't break up with you. Because I would've done the same thing." I look at Ethan and people start talking "Ethan is so understanding!" "Yeah he's so cool." I smile "You really are cool Ethan Rogers." Ethan smiles when the teachers run outside "What happened here?" I glare at Marissa who is scared out of her mind. Ethan looks at the teachers "Vincent's gang had a revolt again." The teachers sigh "Looks like they beat the heck out of each other...Well gather them up." The teachers leave and Ethan looks at the kids around us "You guys will be quiet about this for me right?" The girls swoon and the guys nod their heads "Yeah whatever you say Ethan." I'm dumbfounded "what the?" Ethan hands me a muffin "You missed Lunch you know." I take the muffin "Thanks..." Ethan smiles "Let's get back to class." I smile "Wait a sec." I walk towards Marissa and kneel down "I really am mad that I got pushed down a flight of stairs,but I really don't want you to get bullied because I know how it feels to get bullied...I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy which in this case is you." I smile and hold my hand out and Marisa looks at me *Is this what Ethan meant about a heart?* Marisa takes my hand and she stands up. I look at her "I don't have a lot of friends,but I think a small amount that I can trust is always good. So I won't press charges and make a deal with the school so you won't get in trouble." Marisa is shocked and has tears fall down her face "Aren't you suppose to be the ice Queen? Why are you being so nice to me?" I cock my head and scratch my hair "Oh they're still calling me that? I guess being mad and cold doesn't suit me because I can't stop caring about others...I guess you could call it a curse,but I think Augustus my bro rubbed off on me ha." Marisa smiles "I'll make sure to atone for my sins." I knock her on the head "There's no need for that. Though I do feel pain from that fall." Marisa frowns "Do you think Ethan will forgive me?" I look at Ethan "He's too nice but too be honest i've never seen him so mad before." Jasmine looks at me "Luna come here!" I grab Marisa's hand "Come on let's go!" I smile and Marisa looks at me awe "Hmm!" Ethan looks at me and Jasmine crosses her arms "What is she doing here?" I smile "Marisa is a friend of mine and I hope you can accept her too." Jenny looks at me "Luna you really are amazing...If you trust her i'll trust her too." Michelle nods her head "Ok I guess." Grayson smiles "Wow Luna. Well Hi Marisa." Kaleb smiles "Luna you really are cool!" Ethan looks at Marisa "Well I don't forgive you for pushing Liliana down the stairs,but if she's able to forgive you I'll accept you. But we are not friends." Ethan walks away and I look at Marisa "Give him time and i'll beat him if I have to hahah!" Marisa smiles "Thank you but I don't deserve your kindness." I look at her "You don't but to be honest it's my kindness and I can choose how to use it sometimes." Marisa smiles "Thank you." Jake walks towards me "Luna are you ok?" Jake looks at Marisa "What are you doing here?" I look at Jake "She's a friend of mine and I hope she can be yours too." Mackenzie smiles "You really do have a heart of gold Luna." I look at Mackenzie "Not at all,but I think you know who does. Speaking of him I better go get him." Jake grabs my hand "Why do you always do this?" I look at Jake "Do what?" Jake frowns "Forgive those who've wronged you." I smile "I can have peace of mind only when I forgive rather than judge. Because you never know what someone is going through." Jake sighs "Alright Luna." I run after Ethan. Where is he that baby... I see Ethan on a bench "What is Mr.popular doing all alone?" Ethan looks at me "How did you forgive her so easily?" I smile "You know Ethan I learned from this kid he was so cool. I met him when I was four he stood up for people who got bullied. And finally one day he stood up for me and I thought what would make this person go to great lengths for me. Do you know what his answer was?" Ethan stays quiet and I smile "He said I was his friend. I couldn't believe it. I didn't know that people would go so far for someone who wasn't family." I look at Ethan "It was a long time ago and I never forgot him. Even when I was across the world I thought of this boy and how he was doing. Now he's my boyfriend and has so many around him,but I can tell he's lonely sometimes even though he smiles a lot. I think he really is a amazing guy." Ethan has tears in his eyes and I look at him "Wait why are you crying?" Ethan hugs me "I think the ice around your heart has almost completely melted." I cock an eyebrow "What do mean almost?" Ethan laughs "Watch." Ethan kisses me *tongue?* I push him and he looks at me "Yup not there yet." I frown "You surprised me..." Ethan smiles "I wish you'd let me kiss you more..." My face turns red and I look down "Ah um I..." Ethan laughs "So cute."
