Mckenzie runs to Jake's car "Wait!" I put the window down "Mckenzie?" Mckenzie gets in the back of Jake's car "Can I go with you guys?" I smile "This is good! When I go inside you guys can talk!" Jake looks at me "Luna will you be ok going in by yourself?" I smile "Yeah let's hurry up so I don't have to stay in there for too long." Jake starts driving and Mckenzie makes a confused face "Can I ask where are we going?" I turn around "The hospital to get my permission slip signed by mom she's a surgeon." Mckenzie nods her head "Oh and why do you want to get out of there quickly?" I look out the window "...I'm scared of hospitals and also blood." Jake looks at me then on the road "Why would you tell her what if she tells Jenny?" I smile at Mckenzie "I believe that she won't." After a while we arrive to the hospital. "Jake please just talk to her i'll see you in 15 minutes." I get out and walk into the hospital and walk to the front desk "I'm here to see Melissa James." The lady at the desk looks at her computer "She's busy." I frown "It's me Luna." The lady becomes nervous "Oh Luna go on ahead." I walk into my mother's office. I pull out my permission slip "Sign here." My mom grabs the paper "You'll be gone for three days?" I nod my head "Yes so please either you or dad be home." My mom signs the paper "I can't make any promises." I look at my mom "Yeah because you always break them." My mom takes her glasses off "Luna..." I turn around "The hospital gives me the creeps i'll be on my way." My mom sighs "I'll be home and I'll tell your father too." I smile "Thank you..." I leave the hospital and knock on the window for Jake to unlock the doors. I get in and look at the back "Where's Mckenzie?" Jake looks ahead "She left." I look down "Oh." Jake drops me off at home and I go upstairs to do my homework. When i'm done it's already 7 and I eat left overs from what Apollo cooked yesterday. When i'm done I brush my teeth and go to bed. I dream about hospitals and all the sick people in them. I wake up and it's 7 am. I put my school uniform on and grab my things and walk to school. As i'm walking to class I hear Jenny talking to a couple of her friends including Mckenzie "Ethan is rich dating him would make me look good." One girl speaks "Do you even like him?" Jenny smiles "Of course he's handsome and has money but i've loved since junior high." I sigh *she's liked him for awhile.* Mckenzie rolls her eyes "So has every other girl in our grade." The fourth girl speaks "What about that Luna girl who's always hanging around him?" Jenny makes a disgusted face "What about her? Ethan wouldn't like trash like her." Mckenzie smiles "I used her to get back with Jake. She's pathetic and is actually too nice." Jenny smiles "She isn't worthy of Ethan." My chest feels tight and I walk to class not wanting to hear more. I walk into the classroom and Jake smiles "I got back together with Mckenzie!" I look at Jake "Good for you." I sit at my desk and Ethan looks at me "Luna are you ok?" I'm shocked *how'd he know?* I force a smile "Yeah." Jenny walks into the classroom and I look down "I can't talk to you right now." I continue the school day without talking to Ethan when it's lunch time I leave to get apple juice when I run into Mckenzie and Jenny in the hallway *Just my luck* Jenny smiles "Luna just the girl i've been looking for." I look at Mckenzie who averts my eyes and I look down "What do you want?" Jenny smiles "Simple I love Ethan so stay away from him." I look at Jenny "I can't do that." Jenny raises a brow "Why is that?" I look at Jenny "I've come to accept that I like Ethan so I can't give him up!" Jenny grabs my collar "Do you know who you're talking to bitch? My family does business with Ethan's! So i'm suppose to be with him!" I remove Jenny's hand from my collar "That doesn't determine who Ethan ends up with. Ethan should end up with someone he loves not because its business. I don't know who Ethan loves for sure but knowing him he wouldn't let family business determine his love life." Jenny smacks me and I let her "What do you know about Ethan?" I look at Jenny "Not a whole lot but I would like to get to know him better." I grab my apple juice and walk back to the classroom. Jake looks to see the red mark on my face "Luna what happened?" I touch my face "Oh this? I fell down." Ethan gets up "That's a slap mark. Who slapped you?" I walk to my seat ignoring their questions. Jasmine and Michelle run over I look at them "I'll tell you two if your promise not to tell those two (Ethan and Jake)." They nod their heads "Jenny smacked me and I let her." Michelle looks at me "Luna..." Mr.Robinson walks into the classroom "Alright guys please pass up your permission slips." I take my permission slip out and look at my mom's signature. FLASHBACK

"Mama what's that?" My mom smiles "It's my signature." I look at my mom confused and she smiles "It's a special way to write my name the way I want." I smile "I want a signature." My mom strokes my hair "You'll be able to do that in no time because i believe in you." I smile "Thank you mama."

PRESENT

I pass my slip forward and slouch in my seat. Ethan looks at me "So unlady like." I look at Ethan "Have you ever seen your parents cry." Ethan looks at me "What?" I smile "Nothing." I put my head down on my desk and Ethan looks at me "You can't get sick because you promised to sit next to me on the bus." I smile "I promise I won't get sick." *Because...Unlike my mother I keep my promises.* When schools over Jasmine gets the whole group together "Let's go somewhere before the field trip tomorrow!" I look at my friends "I'm too tired." Jake smiles "Grayson and Ethan will pay!" I turn my head "Free food?" Ethan looks at Grayson "Sure we'll pay." I raise my eyebrows "Alright where are we going." Michelle smiles "Karaoke!" I frown "I'm tired." Michelle grabs my hand "Luna you're not trying to sabotage me when i'm trying to get closer with Grayson are you?" A chill runs up my spine "Let's go karaokeing guys!" Michelle smiles "That's the spirit Luna!" Ethan laughs and I glare at him and he stops. "Your laugh is nice." Ethan looks at me "Thanks?" I turn around "You're welcome." Jake looks at the group "I invited Mckenzie she'll be here any second now." I look down "Really?" Jake nods his head "Yeah she's my girlfriend so." I look to see Mckenzie along with Jenny. "I'm here Jake sorry I was with Jenny can she come?" Michelle and Jasmine glare at Jenny and Jenny sees Ethan looking at her. Jenny runs towards me "Luna!" She locks arms with me "I can't wait to hang out with you and hear you sing!" I become very uncomfortable "Please let go of me." Jenny whispers in my ear "No." I frown "If you let go i'll give up on Ethan." Jenny smiles "Really?" I nod my head and Jenny let's go and I smile "Psych you crazy bitch." I smile "I'll be there ahead of you guys." I run and Jenny screams "Luna!" I laugh and run to the karaoke place and sit there waiting for my friends. Ethan walks up "Luna why'd did you run?" I smile "I was in an awkward situation." Ethan smiles and the group walks into the karaoke place. Jenny looks at me and I wait for everyone to enter the building "I'm leaving." Jenny looks at me "Why are you telling me?" I turn my head and smile "Because I know you won't tell them."
