Falling Slowly

Cold sweat

AUTHORS NOTE:Over the next few chapters it might switch from narration to Luna's point of view so just bear with me.

"Liliana never wants to play!" "She always thinks she's better than us!" "Yeah why can't she be nicer?" "Yeah like him!" "Why can't she be like him?" A car hits a body and the main character Luna wakes up in cold sweat. Her mom walks in "Liliana are you ok?" "Yeah." Her mom tilts her head. Luna sighs "No." The mom comes and sits on Luna's bed "Did you have the nightmare again?" She nods her head. "Maybe it's too soon for you to go to school." Luna sighs "It's been five years since the incident I'm fine I can go to school." The mom smiles and hugs Luna "Okay well get some rest you are starting highschool tomorrow." Luna frowns and her mom closes the door. She stares at her ceiling waiting for her mom to go to sleep. After 10 minuets Luna goes downstairs.*I need some apple juice.* She opens the refrigerator and see's no apple juice. "This is bad." she whispers. Luna slips on her sneakers and heads out side. She looks at her phone 10:30 pm. "The corner store is still open." She runs to the corner store and goes inside "Hi pops the apple juice still back there?" Pops smiles "Still is mighty Luna!" Luna runs to the back and smiles at the sight of freshly stocked apple juice. She grabs two bottles and looks at her phone it reads 10:38. "I better hurry home." Luna runs around the isle towards the counter when she bumps into someone. She looks down to see a guy with forest green eyes staring at her. The boy smiles "You want to kiss a stranger that badly?" Luna gets up and composes herself "Nope." She picks up her apple juice and hands the boy his strawberry milk. She goes to the counter and pops puts her apple juice in a bag. "That'll be two dollars." Luna reaches for her wallet. But a hand gives pops two dollars. Luna turns around to see the boy she bump into "I'll pay." Luna pushes the boy's hand away and hands pops two dollars. She grabs her bag and looks at the boy "No thanks." Luna runs out the convenience store and the boy chuckles. "Who is she pops I haven't seen her around here?" Pops smiles "That's Luna. She used to come here everyday with her brother to buy apple juice." The boy looks at pops "Used too?" Pops nods his head "Stopped coming 5 years ago." The boy looks at Pops "Why?" Pops sighs " I don't think that's my business to tell." The boy nods his head "I understand. What's her name?" Pops smiles "Luna that's lovely Luna." Luna runs back home and sneaks upstairs to her room. She drinks the apple Juice and sighs. *Pops hasn't changed one bit, but who was that guy I ran into? I don't remember seeing him five years ago...* Luna finishes her apple juice and puts the second in her backpack. She falls asleep thinking about the stranger at the convenience store.

I wake up and get dressed for school. "Friends?...It's the first day of highschool...I don't want any friends." I walk out and see my brother and sister. "Luna you're wearing pants to school?" "Don't the girls have to wear skirts?" I grab an apple "I don't care." Artemis looks at her "Cold as ever." I frown "Put yourself in my shoes then we can talk." Apollo smiles "She got you Artemis." I walk outside and see Jake my neighbor and only friend. "LUNA!" I turn around "Hi." The two of us walk to school "It's the first day of highschool how do you feel?"
